As a native from Mo Val I was excited to hear about this new establishment. I went yesterday 10/21 and got the chicken soup, oxtails, and jerk chicken. All plates came with the regular sides cabbage, peas and rice, and plantains. I also bought the pineapple, ginger, and lemon drink sugar free and with sugar added for those diet restrictions in the group. The food is truly delicious and I have pretty well balanced palette. đ The food is five stars hands down however the lack of availability in serving customers, was a bit daunting. There were two employees and at one point the gentleman in the back had to go buy cooking oil. It wasnât a problem but if service continues to grow I can see it being very problematic. With that being said I returned the following day 10/22 to find the same servers, same amount of people waiting but my goodness the food is devine. It makes almost forget the wait. Today I bought sides (the curry chicken, jerk chicken, stew chicken, and fried chicken) to serve the family. We also got two large plates to take to friends. Everything was fabulous. If you want great food here in Moreno Valley and have patience, itâs a must try. In addition, we need to support one another any way we can within our own measures. Be blessed and try them out. They definitely...
Read more*My daughter and I just walked in as new customers. We were not greeted or acknowledged â but okay, one strike isnât bad. So as we stood there, we went to scan the QR code at the counter to see the menu. It didnât work. Okay, thatâs strike two â a small one, but still.
Next, after 10 minutes, the cashier looks at us and says, in his exact words, âLet me get this guy right here.â Okay, no worries. Another few minutes pass, and then he turns to us and says, âWe donât have any food left â only jerk chicken.â 𤏠is what I wanted to do. Like, you had us stand here in your raggedy restaurant without acknowledging us just to tell me you had no food?
No â let me show you how that shouldâve gone: âHi! Welcome! Right now weâre only serving jerk chicken. If you prefer something else, weâll be fully stocked by [insert time].â Thatâs how it was supposed to go.
So ummm, no â I wonât be returning. And honestly, I donât believe...
Read moreI went there because my friend has been posting pics of Jamaican food he's been making, and had noticed a sign for this restaurant, so decided to give it a try.
The atmosphere was casual, and more about the people inside, both customers and staff. It just had a laid back, happy vibe. The staff were really friendly, I mean it was sincere, not just that required by management, "Welcome," that you get when you walk into businesses nowadays.
I ordered the small size since I can't eat those extra large servings, and their idea of small is to me a generous size, like a normal dinner plate at home serving.
I ordered their Oxtail and it came with a side of cooked cabbage medly, rice with beans, and plaintain. I also ordered a slice of their sweet potato pudding. It was all very delicious. I will definitely be going back. Turns out my Jamaican friend has been there before with his sons, and he said it was...
