Our money wasn't the right color. My children went in looking for a gift for their dad's birthday. They went in and were greeted with "What do you need?", not hi, not welcome, just attitude. They asked if they had a specific Bears football item and were told "we don't have that", no sorry, no what else can I help you find. So they asked to be pointed to the sports section. They were told "we don't have anything you're looking for". They stood there in shock for a second where nothing was said and then the lady chirped a fake, "So have a nice day!" They came back to another store I was making a purchase from and got me. I wasn't greeted with a hi or welcome either but in all fairness I think she was shocked I was with them. So she proceeded to backpeddle, apologize to my kids for how she acted and tell me indignantly that she'd never be rude to kids. She pointed out the sports stuff and went to walk away but a teenage employee (mistakenly thinking she has any right to speak or have an opinion about a conversation between two adults) decides to interject a "you did nothing wrong" and then mimic me so they both start to laugh less than 6 feet from myself and my kids. Look, they used to have 2 stores (one applebutter and one shugies). That failed and they merged into a space that is way too small. It's crowded. It's overpriced. It's never open the hours posted. And the employees are rude. We are trying to support small business after the pandemic but they don't want our money so we won't ever be back. Eventually they will burn enough people...and nobody likes applebutter that leaves a bad taste...
Read moreThe owner was nice to me (im a 39 y/o white woman)... but my 19 y/o daughter, her friend, and her friend's boyfriend went in there during "Witches Night Out" in Morris and were accused of stealing when they DID NOT. At first, she accused only one (the black male) of stealing, but at the end, she accused my daughter, too, to try and save face. They offered to let her go through their bags and search them, but she refused and just wanted them out. I will never EVER go back. These kids/young adults were so shaken up as it was their first time face-to-face with such blatant racism. I am absolutely disgusted. Shame on Jane (the...
Read moreThe store was GREAT! Lot's of items of all different styles and prices. The man and lady working there were very nice. We were there for the Corntine Fest they were having. The lady told us all the specials for the day and told us to ask for assistance if we needed it. The man checked us out and was very polite and welcomed us to come back. We were very happy with the store and the customer service. We...
