Morris Bakery — Restaurant in Morris

I’ve ordered my children’s birthday cakes from here for a couple years now... I just ordered a 1/2 sheet the other day and I will never again go back. They charged me $65 ahead of time for only a 1/2 sheet then we went to cut into it and it started falling apart. We found icing holding some of the cake together. One side was higher then the other (not level at all) and half of the chocolate side there was the same amount of icing as there was cake. It was suppose to be buttercream and it definitely didn’t taste like it. It had a gritty whipped taste. Absolutely disgusting! My grandmother who use to make cakes and goes to try every bakery she can said it was the worst cake she’s ever had. We had 40 people and after some people (half kids) stopped eating it because it tasted bad nobody else wanted any so we have more then half of a half sheet left. Which will be going in the trash sadly. Normally, the half sheets we order for my kids birthday party are always gone. I’m not sure what’s going on with this business but it’s sad they’ve went up in price (or I got over charged for this cake), the looks, quality and taste have went completely down hill. We 🤍 doughnuts and all things desserts in our family. We have tried a lot of doughnuts that have been highly recommended or even raved about in magazines or food network shows. I have tried a lot of fresh pastries from Europe when living there to actually working at a local bakery in Michigan. If there is a doughnut being served, you can guarantee I will be eating!

Morris Bakery takes the cake when it comes to the best bakery I have ever tried. There is something about this bakery that just makes it impossible to enjoy anything besides them because they are seriously that dang good.

From their huge selection of doughnuts (some you'll only find there as they're almost one of a kind), to their decorative cakes, adorable cookies, delicious breads, and danishes we truly are hooked! Not to mention, my husband is obsessed with one specific doughnut they make, so we truly won't go...

So, I have been watching Nick who makes the bakery goodies on Tik Tok for awhile & I knew the next time I was in town I would be stopping in - NOT DISAPPOINTING!!! WOW!! DELICIOUS!! NO skimping in ANYTHING here!! We were at a car show on Sept 14th and we happened to park our vehicle in front of the store and the people that were coming to the bakery was non stop!! We got this mini apple butter pie and he was glad he got 2!!! I got the cherry roll patries..YUMMMM!! If you are ever near this location..get in there EARLY..they are that FANTASTIC!! Our friend got the cookies and say they were VERY GOOD!! We're from the Bartlett/Carol Stream area as we only get out here for car shows..we will be back in Can't wait to try a couple...
