I went in earlier this year to see what options they had for suit rentals for my wedding in October, they had the perfect blue suit color I was looking for but I was told that I had to wait until June/July in order to order it. When I came in they said it was no longer availible so I ended up renting a grey suit that I like instead. I went in about a week before my wedding to give my final payment and get sized one final time for changes per their instructions and I told them I needed the suit no later than Thursday since I would leave early Friday but if it came in sooner to let me know. I heard nothing from them so I went in on my own on Thursday to get my suit and they said the suit had been there for a couple days but they didnât call me because my tie and vest still had not come in. I tried on the pants they fit great. The jacket was way too big however, the sleeve covered half my hand and the length and size was at least 1 size too big. Later that day when my best finally came in I asked for an XL and only a L and 2XL came in so neither fit. I also asked for a pocket square that never came. When I asked what to do about the jacket they said they can get a new one within 24 hours but I was leaving in 12, they basically said they didnât have any answer for me then. As a result I had to return the rental for a refund and figure out a different option. I was only refunded half the money I payed even though they were the cause of my problems and didnât think to call me in earlier to try on the jacket at least. Needless to say it was very unprofessional, sloppy, and a rip off since I got scammed out of money for...
Read moreBlack Tie & Pearls advertises that they sell womenâs suits. But they actually do womenâs measurements for menâs pants. So when I was asked to be the best man at a wedding we were assured that theyâve done the sizing for women in menâs pants and havenât had any issues. After two fittings the pants that I ended up going home with did NOT fit properly and was pushed into getting them by the owner saying âthis is the best we can do.â âAt the end of the day no one will be looking at you, they will be looking at the groomâ âmen and women have different body types.â Then donât advertise that you do womenâs suits?? The pants were a joke, my butt would have been hanging out of them, and no amount of suspenders or shirt couldâve fixed them. This was all the week of the wedding when I had no other options for a fitted suit. When I tried to get my money back they would only give me 50% of the payment back, because when you walk out the door with them thatâs all they can do. They were very understanding that I wanted my money back because they all saw what they looked like on. Long story short if you are a woman, looking for a suit....
Read moreRecently visited our sons at WSU and one announced on Friday night that he needed a suitâŠin five days. After frantically checking the internet, I told him weâd rent a suit from Black Tie & Pearls for the time being, then buy one when heâs home on break. Imagine my surprise we when walked into the shop on a Saturday in late September and not only had the NICEST gentleman help us, but found a very nice wool suit in stock. Within 30 minutes, we went from desperate-for-anything to purchasing a classic suit that will last for years. Purchased on Saturday, hemmed, pressed, and ready for pick-up on Tuesday. Excellent customer service, great selection. Very happy to have a locally owned business to support. Kudos to the well-dressed, very professional young man who waited on us for putting a nervous college kid at ease and helping him make the right choice in a suit. Heâs already received so many...
