Dollar General — Local services in Mounds View

Update: Store is always a disaster. Since the original crew left and found better employment elsewhere this store has been in constant struggles. From leaving product on carts blocking customer paths and shelves empty I don't recommend shopping here. They don't have employees and I'm sure food is sitting expiring since they close frequently due to staff issues. I no longer shop here as Aldi and Walmart is always open and better priced. DG raised prices yet shelf tags don't reflect the changes. Another failing store like Shady Deals in the neighborhood. The word in the neighborhood about DG has not been good for a while now.

After reading some reviews I felt I should leave mine. First off this place is a very good place to shop! Prices are good and beats going to walmart or driving all over town. There are always deals and plenty of a selection. Staff is small, helpful and amazing these ladies put up with a lot of not so nice customers and problem shoplifters regularly and still have to stock shelves and clean up the mess the messy customers/ kids leave around on top of dealing with other customers and thier needs, answer questions, tell people where stuff is, set up shelves for new items, deal with deliveries etc. Store is dated but staff does what they can with what they have to work with cant blame the staff for something they dont control. Store needs a new layout, paint and new floors but not the employees fault they are stuck with dated design being it is a older store. These ladies take a lot of customer abuse that's not fair or ok. Treat them with respect and they will show you respect! Help them out if you dont want something go put it away yourself dont just throw it on the floor and walk away!!! What's wrong with you? I see many times people let thier kids run wild and making huge messes and damaging items and parents dont care. Babysitting is not part of the staffs responsibilities! It is a small store and these ladies already have alot to do and this store can get very busy at times the staff can only do what they can they are HUMAN!!. I love this store and spend a lot of money here I get what I need and then some. As a regular to this store I see a great neighborhood location that is convenient, time and money saver. To reply to some reviews saying product was not stocked its because they sell alot of those items. Yes things go out of stock it happens the store is small and can only hold so many items. Overall still a wonderful friendly place to shop and support! If you take a cart out it takes only a minute to bring it back be nice it's free and the staff appreciates it. This store in Mounds View MN recently moved into a recently vacated CVS building and has been open for a little while. I had been in the store and it looked pretty nice, but today was a big turn-off. A mailing had been sent out noting their grand opening today at 8:00 AM, saying the first 50 adults would get a $10 gift card. I was near the front of the line, which was getting long by 8:00. Upon opening, we had to ask about the gift cards, and the woman who opened the door walked back in to talk to someone, then came back and announced they gave away all the gift cards a couple of days ago. When we pointed out what the ad said, it didn't do any good. A lot of people, including me, were pretty disappointed, and left without entering. Was going to shop here but need to use the restroom first, after the rude cashier reluctantly gave me the key and told me where the restroom was I found the door completely blocked by giant carts and a homemade sign that read "DUE TO LACK OF RESPECT THE RESTROOM IS CLOSED!" When I went back to the register and started to explain that I was cut off by a second cashier angrily telling me to ignore the sign and go in any way and I calmly told her that was impossible because the door was completely blocked and she threw her hands up in the air and rolled her eyes as if I was ruining her entire day lol.
