Sandwich King — Restaurant in Mounds View

My husband and I visited this spot for the first time today and were pleasantly surprised by both the food and the service. We ordered the Philly steak sandwich, the mac and cheese chicken shawarma wrap, the Philly fries, and the Dubai milkshake.

The staff were warm and welcoming, and our food came out quickly with very generous portions. The Philly fries were absolutely loaded with flavor—crispy fries topped with juicy steak, melted cheese, grilled peppers, and a drizzle of creamy white sauce. The mac and cheese chicken shawarma wrap was another standout: rich, cheesy, and full of perfectly seasoned chicken wrapped in a warm, soft tortilla. It was a bold fusion that worked surprisingly well.

The Philly steak sandwich was also solid, with tender meat and melted cheese packed into soft bread—classic and satisfying.

The only miss for me was the Dubai milkshake. While it looked amazing, the texture was more like a thick chocolate mousse rather than a smooth, creamy shake. The chocolate syrup and crunchy mix-ins didn’t blend well and made the drink hard to enjoy. I was hoping for something more milkshake-like, with a rich chocolate ice cream base, but unfortunately it wasn’t for me. I ended up tossing it, though I still appreciate the creativity.

Overall, I’d definitely recommend trying the Philly fries and the mac and cheese shawarma wrap if you’re in the mood for something indulgent...

Had the chance to check out Sandwich King in Mounds View and this spot did not disappoint. I tried their chicken mac and cheese shawarma and that was hands down my favorite item. Me and my brother both loved it when we stopped in. The flavor combo was crazy in the best way and it really stood out on the menu.

I also tried the king bowl which had a mix of flavors that made it a really unique and satisfying dish. It gave a nice balance of savory and fresh. The Philly cheesesteak and fries were solid too. The sandwich was packed with flavor, fresh to order, and had great portion size. The gyro was another hit. It was fire and definitely a decent size. You really get your bang for your buck at this spot.

We also grabbed milkshakes and they were amazing. My brother had the Baja Blast milkshake and I had the mango milkshake made with mangoes imported straight from Egypt. That milkshake was on point and super refreshing.

The staff were friendly, the service was quick, and the vibe inside was clean and chill. There’s a decent amount of seating and the parking lot was stress-free. Easy in and out which is always a plus.

All in all, this spot is a win. The food is flavorful, the prices are reasonable compared to other spots in the Twin Cities, and the overall experience was great. I’d definitely recommend...

Ok so this is a no brainer if you are at northtown mall you are close enough to come here we have been in moundsview for 7 years and when we want good food this is where we go we have had so much good food here. We have our whole family eating here from Fridley, blaine, new brighton. This place is deff a place to go if you want fast food that is worth your money. You actually get what you ordered everyone that we have met is wonderful and today we tried a new sauce from the sandwhich Queen and let me tell you we were fighting over it. Can not wait to eat that with everything. My daughter sat in the car and threw a fit she has never eaten there before and when we got home to eat she ate some of our food and asked if they deliver which is no and got mad and stormed out. Now if she is wanting it you got to go. This is one of the only spots that os a whole pork free menu and we love it because we do not eat pork. To the Sandwhich King and Queen we love that you are out here and can get great food that feels like my mom cooked it. Can't wait to see whays...
