I want to first start out by saying Austin saved a sale. As a person who has worked in my customer service roles in retail and luxury retail, saving a sale goes a long way. I visited this store previously and Austin was most helpful with answering questions and explaining products. I was at a store nearby and just wandered in to check it out, as I was new to the area. Today I went in with a specific interest in finding something that can help my dogsā anxiety. I walked in and was met by a young African American female. I greeted her and told her I was looking for something for my dog and asked if she could show me what they had for pets. She brings over three bags of treats. None of those interested me as they were for joint and digestive health. One was for anxiety, but I recognized the brand, and I had tried those before, and they did not work. I said thank you but let her know I was looking for something stronger. I asked if they had tinctures and she pulled two bottles from the case and put them on the counter. At this point I notice she is very short in her response, and I did not get a good vibe from her, but I went along. I asked if she could tell me the difference and she said I can read the bottle. I asked if they can be used for pets and if one was better than the other and again told me to āread the bottle.ā Side note - rule of thumb when working with the public, always be kind and helpful. That is more important than anything else. You never know who you will come across and when paths may cross again. I was immediately turned off by her demeanor. She was rude and short in her response and willingness to explain the products. If she didnāt know about tinctures, she could have easily said, "hey let me get someone who can help and has a bit more knowledge than I do", instead she chose a different course of action, which left a bad taste for me, and I no longer was interested in making a purchase. I told her I was all set and that her customer service was poor and I would not be getting anything. She snatched products off the counter and said "bye". I was almost out of the door and decided to turn around to speak with a manager or someone else. I noticed Austin walking out and at the same time someone walked in, and he started to help that customer. I was going to wait and she walked over to him and said they can switch customers. I told Austin that her customer service was poor, and I was not sure what her problem was. Needless to say, Austin provided exceptional service. Explained both tinctures to me, advised me on how much I may want to use, and much more. I ended up making a purchase on the strength and service of Austin. One last thing, I could overhear her helping the other customer with this renewed energy. Offering her various products and suggestions. I donāt know why she didnāt have that same energy with me but I will be back but definitely not seeing her. I hope management has a conversation with her because she needs better training on how to work with customers, or to check her attitude...
