MHTC — Local services in Mount Horeb

For a company literally called "mount horeb telephone company", it doesn't provide all services in mount horeb. Yes, customer service is good which is why I gave 2 stars instead of one but the low rating is literally because mount horeb doesn't have access to all services provided, specifically the fiber internet. On top of this, their website is falsely advertising that it, in fact, is provided. You click on the 1000mbs fiber option, put a mount horeb address in and it takes you to the sign up screen that literally says "Congratulations. High speed Internet is available!" And you have to finish filling out the form again before you are informed that fiber high speed internet is, in fact, NOT available. They are referring to the "high speed" of copper internet which is not that high speed at all when you're in a house full of people trying to...

I spoke with Cindy today in the billing department. She was VERY RUDE, CONDESCENDING, and SPOKE OVER ME not allowing me to communicate my concerns effectively. SHE COULD USE SOME REMEDIATION IN PUBLIC RELATIONS. I had turned in equipment after cancelling my television service, and was told I would be billed for the missing TV controls etc.. - I offered at that time (5/19) to pay the balance but the front desk clerk did not want to calculate this so I was told "they would send the balance on my next bill". My June bill was due 6/10/19, my internet service was cut off on 6/12/19 without a curtesy call or communication - AFTER BEING A CUSTOMER FOR MORE THAN 30 YEARS...NICE TO KNOW THAT mhtc VALUES...

MHTC is right-sized and wonderful! By being a customer I have gotten to know employees and vice versa in this community-based company. No far-off teenagers cheerfully reading to me from their own screen menus. Melissa and her friends take very good care of me; I've never been able to stay ornery very long because they meet my needs so promptly! MHTC arranged fiberoptic service for us residents fairly early on. Imagine having a help desk which is only a few blocks away! I feel sorry for customers of other telecomms.
