As a 52-year-old guy on a mission to find the perfect ensemble for a special event, I embarked on a shopping journey that led me to various stores, including Ross, Marshalls, JCPenney, and Belk. Disheartened by the subpar quality of the low-cost options at these establishments, such as polyester shirts and lackluster shoe selections, I felt my quest for the perfect outfit was becoming increasingly challenging.
In a stroke of luck, I stumbled upon Men's Wearhouse through an online search. Recalling my experiences shopping there in my college years in the early '90s, I decided to give it another shot. From the moment I stepped into the store, I was greeted by an ambiance of warmth and professionalism.
The exceptional service began with a staff member, whose name unfortunately escaped me, yet her impact on my experience was unforgettable. Within the first 5 seconds of walking in, she seamlessly took my measurements, showcasing an efficiency that set the tone for a positive shopping encounter. Her expertise in helping me find sizes tailored to my long arms and narrow frame was nothing short of remarkable.
I ultimately left Men's Wearhouse with a delightful haul, including 2 impeccably tailored shirts, 1 pair of perfectly fitted pants, a tasteful tie, and a pair of Florsheim shoes. The entire staff contributed to the positive atmosphere, creating an environment where shopping was not just a transaction but an enjoyable experience.
While my only regret is not obtaining the name of the stellar staff member who guided me through my shopping journey, I wanted to highlight that her assistance was invaluable. The synergy among the staff members created an environment that radiated enthusiasm and genuine care for the customer.
In terms of constructive suggestions, I offer two minor considerations. Firstly, a more personal touch could have been achieved by exchanging first names, creating a connection that goes beyond the typical customer-staff interaction. Secondly, though I am pleased with my China-made Florsheim shoes, the addition of a broader selection, perhaps featuring Italian-made options at a higher price point, could further elevate the premium shopping experience that Men's Wearhouse already provides.
In conclusion, despite these minor suggestions, my overall experience at Men's Wearhouse surpassed my expectations. After the frustration of wasting 90 minutes at other stores, I left Men's Warehouse feeling not only satisfied but genuinely excited about my purchase. They told me I could come at 2PM and "anytime before or after that." We were driving from Lebanon and ran into traffic on 40 and arrived at 2:35. I wasn't worried about it because I was told "anytime before or after that." So, my family and I arrived and were very excited to get my wedding suites. We were welcomed in and placed with a girl named Tori. I told them our party name and my ID number and her response was very passive aggressively "and you are 40 minutes late?" I explained our situation and there was no response. Just typing on her iPad. She asked no questions about what we might want what we were looking for or gave any feedback at all. Just laid out the color choices for me and asked me to pick one. It felt tense and awkward. She clearly didn't want to be there or help in the slightest. So after picking the color and pattern I told her that we were looking to buy the suits. She just stared and said "you're looking to buy them?" and told us that she would have to move us to another person cause she only did rentals. Maybe if she would have bothered to ask any questions about what we wanted at all that could have been resolved first. We wasted 15 minutes of our time with her passive aggressively and poorly doing her job. We got moved to another worker in the store and he was much friendlier and very easy to work with. However, our experience was so poor with Tori that all of us were in a bad mood. So we thanked the gentleman who was actually helping us and left. We are not returning either. I was planning on getting my suit there and my 10 other suits for my groomsman but not anymore. I took my business somewhere that actually seemed like they wanted me there and were helpful and didn't make rude and passive aggressive remarks. I alway enjoyed my experiences at Men's Wearhouse. I have been apart of several weddings and had a great experience there. But I am not going again. Terrible experience with some of the worst customer experience I have ever received. Read moreWas told weeks in advance I could pick up the suit on Wednesday for a wedding that was out of town on Saturday. I called a week and a half prior to double check that it was no issue and was told not a problem. I went into the store on that Wednesday to pick up and sure enough it wasn't there! The associate then said that they don't do early pick up and said I shouldn't have been told this... 30 minutes later after I was able to route the suit to a store in Michigan to receive it. That store being 60 miles out of the way but that was my option. The associate stood there while I looked up individual stores and called each one myself to confirm they were open.
Once it was worked out I asked him if it was fine that I drop the suit off on Tuesday since it was a holiday weekend (memorial day) to which he said yeah no problem again... My wife went in today to drop off the suit and they tried to charge her a $40 late fee. I called and spoke to another associate. Heated to say the least as this was now the second time I was blatantly told something that was not correct. The associate didn't like my tone and how he was being spoken to. He cut me off and then proceeded to speak to me like a child and not help me until I "asked" not "told" him not to charge the late fee that I should have never been charged in the first place. He was a jerk. Had I been told upfront that it was going to be an issue I could have returned it to one of the 10 different mens wearhouses between Michigan and Tennessee.
Thank you for the nonstop customer service issues and the jacked up awkward fitting suit. I pray i'm never in a wedding that I have to rent from this...
