Batteries Plus — Local services in Mount Pleasant

Positives: The store is very clean and organized.!

Negatives: My wife called Samsung because our phone (Samsung Z Flip 4) was broken. They (Samsung) had advised her this place was a certified recommended repair shop for them. She called Batteries Plus and spoke with an employee who advised he ordered her specific part, and it would come in a couple days. The employee went on to tell her he would call her when it arrives so she can come in and have the Z Flip 4 repaired.

She called in a few days after not receiving notice, and inquired to see if the part came in. Another employee, different than the original, told her it came in, and we could could travel up there to get her phone fixed.

We drove 45 minutes to get to this location. The original employee advised it would take 1 hour to get the phone fixed. After arriving to the location, a young red haired male employee (who was quite nice) had stated that the original employee who had set up the service no longer worked there. He then quoted that it would take two hours instead of one for them to fix it. We had long distance plans elsewhere, but since we were there, sure, we will find something else to do in the mean time.

We decide to go to another store, and receive a call from the Batteries Plus' store manager who stated that their store was not Samsung certified, they could not fix the phone, and that they were oh so sorry for our wasted time. They blamed the employee that was let go over and over instead of taking accountability. This was quite upsetting as it really put a damper in our plans and we had to reschedule those for another day.

Side note: The store smelled of a faint hint of Marijuana like they smoke or vape it in the back? Unless there is a dispensary nearby causing that smell. There were tons of plug-in air fresheners spread out throughout to may be mask it.

Based on our experience I cannot recommend this...

I originally came to the shop for a screen replacement on my iPhone. While they did technically try to correct all of the mishaps, I still wouldn't come back for another screen or battery replacement. My original phone was damaged further causing video to give white noise and the mic to not function properly (not great for a small business owner that needs phone for social accounts), then I was told they would replace with a NEW phone to which I agreed when I went to pick it up it ended up being a mystery refurbished phone not even factory refurbished by Apple. It took three weeks to accomplish all of this and the refurb to come in. Mystery refurb only lasted for a month and a half before screen became unresponsive. Ultimately I requested my money back and returned refurb to them, but still ended up with a more broken phone than what I walked in with. I am thankful they allowed me to return refurb and refund my money as I had to then go purchase...

Terrible experience, been without my car for 2 weeks now and it’s been 12 days since I ordered a key from this store. They’ve yet to contact me, I’ve called and went in store twice since then and every time I talk to someone they seem like they cant find my order and come up with an excuse for why they haven’t gotten it shipped yet (one of which is they are having difficulty cutting my key while in the same call they said it hadn’t come yet). It seems like an extreme case of negligence and I’ve wasted more money than the key would have cost me because I don’t have a car. Not to mention a locksmith in town will do it for less than half their price. All that being said I’ll NEVER even so much as look in the direction of this business again and I can’t recommend enough...
