My phoneâs screen had a huge crack due to accidentally getting crushed by carâs trunk. My husband and I took it to this place because it was 4th of July and other repair stores in the area were closed besides this one. When we took my heavily damaged phone to them, they reassured us there was no frame damage and they could still replace the screen with an Apple certified one (I have an iphone). The repair costed a little over $460, but this place was my only option as I needed my phone the next day for a work event. Therefore, I figured the steep price would be worth it.
Well, I was so, SO wrong. The next day when my husband went to pick it up, the phone screen looked very different than the original. It also lagged significantly, and I immediately ran into issues of ghost typing. We also received a message on my phone that the screen was not recognized by the device, which was puzzling because they reassured us the screen was Apple approved. At this point, I felt scammed and was reluctant with bringing it in. The ghost typing died down eventually, but the lagging persisted.
3-4 weeks after my repair, I placed my phone in my work bag like I usually do. When I went to retrieve it from my bag, I noticed a faint crack that went from one side to the other! Then, the ghost typing started back again. Reluctantly, we brought it in to see if they could the very least stop the ghost typing without having to fully repair the screen. They said they could not because it was damaged already and, therefore, couldnât prove if the ghost typing was occurring before or after the faint crack. Fair enough, but it should not have been lagging, ghost typing, and then becoming easily damaged from being in my work bag in the first place. It should be noted my phone had a case on it too.
So, since the warranty could not be honored, they wanted nearly $500 again for the repair LOL. I felt like I learned my lesson here and ultimately decided I couldnât go through getting scammed into a low quality replacement screen again.
We ended up taking my phone recently to Best Buy, which I wished I knew they did apple phone repairs to begin with. The kicker in all of this, however, is when Best Buy said the previous replacement screen was NOT an Apple certified one that this place claimed it was. They also found a piece of plastic this place was supposed to remove, which the tech at Best Buy postulated why my phone immediately ran into ghost typing issues before the 2nd crack came along. The repair ended up being much cheaper through Best Buy, and we didnât even have warranty on it!
Long story short, AVOID this place! I genuinely feel scammed and lied to. If they were honest about not using Apple certified screens, I wouldâve taken my phone elsewhere. Save yourself the money and headache and go to Best...
Read moreWent there on a Saturday to try and get my phone fixed because nothing else was open at the time my phone just shut off automatically. He was nice at the time and gave me a price it would cost to get fixed. He told me it was either my charging port or my battery. My phone was almost 2 years old so I figured it was the battery. He said in 2 days it would be fixed as he had to order the parts. I waited 2 days and heard nothing from him. I called and he said another 2 days. AGAIN I didn't hear from him. I went into there after work and he said he was just trying to work on my phone. Showed me he put in a new battery and charging port. The phone STILL didn't work. He said well I'm going to have to order another part. (Can't remember what its called) Then proceeded to tell me I would have to pay another 200 and something. I said no I'm not paying anything else when there was nothing wrong with my battery or charging port obviously. He said I can fix your other phone what's wrong with it. I said the screen is fading and that's it. He said I will fix it for 187. I said no fix it for the price you charged me and I paid for already. I snapped and said Im not going anywhere until I leave with a phone. He said we have phones for sale. I don't want your phones. I will never go there again nor recommend anyone to go there. I used to but never tf again. They keep people's phones to get their pics and info and I heard they sell your phone. Especially Samsung and iPhones. They are scammers and don't trust them. Never again will I pay someone before doing the job either. I was stupid for that. They need to shut that place down and put a honest person there to do the job. I bought a pair of gaming headphones from there also before and they didn't even work. Told me they can't do refunds on headphones if the box has been...
Read moreMy wifeâs phone had mild cracks on the back of her phone, we went to this guy because the prices seemed reasonable, I was told the total cost would come out to something around $125 to fix just the back glass of her I phone 12 pro max but the actual cost was even higher after check out. He said he could get the job done in 30 mins after the part was ordered. We waited 3 days for a call. After we received the call we took the phone in to get fixed and it took well over 3 hours and we had to call him to check in because it took soo long. After finally receiving the phone we noticed the flash did not work on the phone, prior to us taking our phone to this guy the flash worked just fine. He said he wouldnât charge us for labor but he will charge us for the part HE BROKE, the flash on the phone still does not work, he will not refund nor pay for the damages himself for his sloppy repair. And the parts only $40 if he was a good businessman he could pay it. They donât care about the customer and they will argue with you!! NEVER GO TO THIS STORE heâs an Indian scammer!! And he might be a pervert too! I think he looks through womanâs phones. I shouldâve known just by looking at the store, itâs dusty, dirty, table, broken phone cases that have fallen off the display shelves, really gross idk why I didnât see the red flags. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. Letâs get this guy outta Racine with his...
