Golden Needle — Local services in Mount Pleasant

Anna at the Golden Needle is simply amazing. Not only did she do a wonderful job altering my wedding dress (which I ordered online), she also saved my whole wedding day! My husband's suit was brought to another tailor shop in the Kenosha area called Bay Ridge Cleaners. Its located in South Port Plaza and somehow has a good rating online..(I will attach their information and picture as well so others beware). That tailor shop called us the night (after 8pm) before we were supposed to pick up his suit and asked us if they could have more time. How unprofessional! Considering they had his suit for almost 3 weeks and not a single thing was done to it in the whole time they had it. We told them no, we need the suit by the day they said it would be done. So the man agreed to have it done.. The following morning the older gentlemen from Bay Ridge cleaners calls us to say his alterations associate that works on men's suits was in a car accident that same very morning. Meaning they would not have the suit done in time.... I'm not sure if this was a lie to cover up lack of work or pure coincidence of bad luck. Either way it was terribly handled on their end so we picked up are untouched suit and brought it immediately to Anna at the Golden Needle. She was so helpful and understanding. She herself seemed upset that another tailor could be so irresponsible for something so important. Anna was able to alter my husband's suit in less than 1 day! Yes, literally 1 day! Were were amazed and so thankful to have found her. Not only does she do amazing work, she truly cares about her clients and wants to make them happy. I fully recommend the Golden Needle for all your alteration needs :)...

I dropped off a hoodie to have a new zipper put in and was told it would be two weeks, I was fine with that and had her proceed. I was going to be out of town when it was going to be done, so I told her I would be back in three weeks. I showed up at the three week point and it wasn't done (wrong zipper arrived) and was asked to come back in a week. I went back one week later, still not done and she had a plastic zipper......I wanted a metal one like what was in it originally. Was told to give her a couple of days to get the right one. I went back 4 days later, she had a zipper that would work but hadn't installed it. Was told to come back in three hours to pick it up. I couldn't get that to work in my schedule so I went the next day........it was finally done.

I looked over the quality of work and have attached photos. I'm not pleased at all with the work, I don't have the patience to take it back and maybe have it sewn correctly. I have learned my lesson and will not take...

I've been taking items for alterations to Anna for over 10 years. Couldn't be more pleased with her work. A few years ago I bought the wrong size dress on sale and could not return it. The dress was about 3 sizes to small for me. After Anna worked her magic, it was a perfect fit. I receive compliments on it everytime I wear it. She's also done a great job downsizing leather pants for me that needed the legs narrowed and waist taken in. Just recently I purchased a faux leather skirt with pearls on it from an online store. The skirt was imported and did not run true to size. I could barely get it over my hips. Instead of just adding side panels to make it fit, she suggested that I buy a yard of faux leather fabric and she would make a complete a new back for the skirt which would allow it to fit over my hips perfectly. I can't say enough good things about her work and how friendly she has been towards me. Often she and I take time to chat about family...
