An employee loudly accused me of shoplifting in front of everyone, and continued to tell me I'm suspicious after I emptied my pockets in front of them.
I was carrying a shirt and 2 hats, I sat those on some boxes while I tried to get a stupid piece of gum from the bottom of my pocket. I was putting my keys back in my front pocket when a worker started yelling at me. I was confused, but held my keys in the air to show that it was my keys and not merchandise. I walked over to the worker and emptied my pockets, but they got really rude with me even after showing them I had no merchandise in my pockets. They seemed to be in a bad mood and told me I look suspicious several times. I know I need to grow thicker skin but I was starting to cry at this point so I put everything back and left.
I just don't think it's right to treat customers that way, especially after proving I hadn't taken anything. I've never stolen anything from Kohl's or anywhere else. They can watch the cameras. The least the employee could have done was dropped it after I emptied my pockets, but he doubled down. Maybe stuffing my keys in my pockets did look suspicious, but no need to embarrass me in front of everyone even after I showed you they were keys. I did talk to the manager and she was apologetic, and I appreciate that because I was really upset at this point. Corporate gave me a $5 gift card but not sure if I'm comfortable going back in there. Just a weird experience. Be mindful of using your pockets in...
Read moreKohl’s in Mt. Vernon is a fun spot if you’re looking for trendy and cute clothes. Their selection is stylish and perfect for all kinds of occasions—from everyday wear to more formal outfits. I’ve personally found some great pieces there, including two adorable Bluey shirts and two absolutely beautiful church gowns that I still love.
One big highlight is the new Sephora section inside the store. It’s a great addition if you're into makeup and skincare! Even though I haven’t purchased anything from there yet, the smell of the perfumes drifts all the way to the checkout area—it definitely adds to the atmosphere.
That said, Kohl’s is a bit on the pricey side, especially if you’re shopping on a budget. They do advertise a lot of “deals” and sales, but it can feel a little overwhelming when you’re just trying to browse. The constant promotions and offers being pushed onto customers can get annoying after a while.
Still, the employees are always super sweet and helpful, which makes the shopping experience more enjoyable. Whether you’re asking about sizing, returns, or just looking for something in particular, they’re ready to assist without being too pushy, unless it's about the Kohl's...
Read moreSTAFF LIES TO CUSTOMERS Tried to ruin Christmas twice with the same transaction. Dad wanted to get Mom a gift card for Christmas. Store let him write out a large check before they declined to take checks. Gift card was defective, PIN number couldn't be scratched off. Customer service thinks it will be a month before they can ship a replacement gift card. I advised Mom go back to the store and get a replacement there. Customer service line said that was a good plan. Mom called the store she was going to ,MULTIPLE TOWNS AWAY, to make sure they would replace the card. The local store said they would do that over the phone. Then she gets there and they refuse. Manager also refused. They also said there was nobody they could call to fix it. Somehow managed to get one ordered, but it took over an hour for the transaction to come through, fortunately they sent credit online and we don't have to wait a month like the 800...
