I want to begin by saying this does not reflect on the sales side of Lynch where I bought my car or the collision department that I have not used. I would also say that the front facing service experience in all areas of Lynch has always been positive. That being said, the service department has soured me to the point I won’t be back to Lynch in any capacity. I have used the service department at lynch exclusively since purchasing my car in from Lynch new in October 2022 and there have been a series of issues that have led me to decide not to return. To start, no matter how many times I make an appointment through Lynch’s online scheduler I am continuously told they don't have me on the schedule. I believe this is why a simple oil change routinely takes over an hour from check-in to keys in hand. Two oil changes ago I left Lynch only to shortly thereafter have my check engine light came on. Upon calling Lynch I was advised to check that the oil dipstick was still in the car and seated properly. Sure enough, the dipstick had not been put back in. I’m no mechanic but that seems like some day one level stuff. Still, mistakes occur and I’m not one to complain about easy fixes. This was until my last visit on 11/12. I came in for an oil change and a tire rotation for which had scheduled online and for which was, again, not found. Nevertheless the service advisor stated they could get me “right in”. Nearly an hour and a half later my car was finally ready but when I got in it I noticed something odd. My dashcam had been disabled. I decided to go ahead and review the last video and observed the car being driven “right in” to the shop and then “right out” the back door to a parking lot. At that point whomever was in it can be heard fiddling around for about a minute until the dashcam is deliberately unplugged. Oddly enough the camera I use is a simple one that does not record when the car is off. I found its deliberate disabling to be deeply troubling. To make matters worse, shortly after getting my car back the check engine light came on again, this time throwing a code for an issue with the active grill shutter system. I have not yet had a chance to have my car brought into a shop but at this point I will not be taking it back to Lynch. I simply cannot trust my car in the hands of a shop that has proven themselves to be at best incompetent. Its unfortunate that having my car diagnosed will cause additional expense but I’m fearful that taking it back to Lynch will result in the same expense and possibly an attempt to cover up whatever has caused the issue with the active grill shutters if it was indeed caused ...
Read moreLuke and his team are amazing! I arrived with engine issues on a very cold day. I was in the area because I needed to pick up my horse and trailer at Abrahams Equine Clinic in Cedar Rapids. Luke assured my that the issue was probably my fuel filter, which he and his team changed ASAP and got me on the road. I was able to hook up to my trailer, get my horse back to the stable, and back up and unhook before it got dark. I am VERY grateful for Luke and the folks at Lynch! This isn't the first time he has helped me with my truck, and I know I can always count on Lynch to help me....
