Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Mount Vernon

Since the Clint Henik family have taken over the business it is always opened when their posts say it is. The new freezer is always stocked. I have only had one gal who wasn't pleasant who took my order, but I reminded her that she was there to serve me not the other way around. Told her that her attitude needed worked on. Young people need to be told because most parents don't teach them manners or how to be respectful.. Place was clean the times we were there. Food good. I did have a banana split one evening and it was a little sparse mostly a banana and whip cream, little strawberry's no pineapple that I could see and the ice cream seemed watery. That's the only complaint I have. I appreciate that we have a dairy queen in our town. The Heniks will get all the kinks worked out. So...

For the second time this week, I got a strawberry blizzard. First time I thought it’s a shake !! It was watery like you just microwave it. I told her I ask for a blizzard, she replied and this is a blizzard. Remember back in the day when they used to flip it upside down to show the customers how frozen it is . Now she can not tilt the cup without spillin all over the counter. Anyways I paid for it with regret . Second time today, the exact same thing happened at the same location in Mt. Vernon, IA . When I saw the blizzard like a soup, I told her it’s melted, then she start giving me the attitude like I have never had one before. I asked for my money. But she is still upset with me like I cost her her business.I have been a customer for 26 years....

Ordered a plain cheeseburger on my lunch break, got back to work opened it to find it loaded with ketchup and mustard, not plain. Not a lot of time left on my lunch break to take it back. Tried calling several times and they just let it ring and ring without picking up. Drive to the store and explain and they do make a new burger, however I open it to check that this one is plain and the bun has bright red blood soaked on it and the burger not done. So now I ask if I can just get a refund instead as I am on lunch break and don't have time for them to make me another burger. The guy refuses to refund my money says that is just juice and that the burger is fine. I hate to write a bad review, but...
