Hallmark Care Center — Local services in Mount Vernon

My mom went into hospice care at this facility recently at the recommendation of a friend who knows many members of the care team. I am very thankful for the special way in which all members of the staff treated her and cared for her. They all strive to take care of each resident as though that person is family. I could not have done it without them! Even after Mom passed away the aides washed her body and handled her like she was their loved one. They talk to and tell the patients everything they’re doing. They are consistent in their care and while I can’t speak to the ‘management’ off site in some large city, I can tell you that the local leadership in that facility has got to be nothing short of phenomenal! Nothing else could ever explain that level of special care and consistency among all levels of staff or their kindness and consideration even when some families are uncharacteristically rude due to grieving. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart! You made an extremely tough time in our lives much easier because I knew mom was getting compassionate care when I couldn’t be there. My mother has been residing here since June. The staff exhibits exceptional personalities and professionalism, consistently performing at a high level. Through daily visits, I have had the pleasure of getting acquainted with most of the daytime staff and have been exceedingly impressed with their courteous demeanor and unwavering dedication to the residents. My husband has been at Hallmark for 8 months, and receives very good care. I wish that the owners could renovate and update the building. The rooms are small. My husband has been in and out of 3 other facilities for respite/rehab, and Hallmark has the best staff in my opinion. They treat my husband and me like family.
