Tony's Meat Market Butcher Shop — Local services in Mountain Park

On Christmas Eve, I went out looking for a butcher to get some oxtail in the gwinnette lawrenceville area around 4 pm. To my surprise, a lot of these places like to have their meat pre-packaged without customers being able to tell them how they would like their cut (Not reaI butcher like) and I went to at least 5 places and no no no. So, at the last minute, I found Tony's meat market and called them: and they said they close at 5:30. Mind you, it was already 5 by that time, and gps said i was 34 minutes away. So I rushed there and by 5:32 I could see by the road that they just turned off the light. I drove in front of the place, and they were heading out to their car. I thought I was out of luck when the owner came up and asked if I was the one who called, and I said yes. He said his wife noticed me from the window, and he told me he would reopen to cut the oxtail for me. The price was reasonable and meat was fresh when I marinated it that day. I wish I had gotten more. I'm happy that he was willing and ready to make a customer happy. He could've just left and said sorry I'm closed, but he didn't. I would recommend this meat butcher to anyone. If I could give this place more than a 5 star, I would. The oxtail I made on Christmad Day turned out delicious. THANK YOU. This is the local butcher shop that you can rely on for excellent meats. He has a variety of beef cuts that are USDA certified Angus Prime. Keep in mind that only 3% of all beef meets this high standard. This means you pay more but you will know why when you eat it. Prime has much more marbling than what you find in the grocery store which lends to a more tender and flavorful meat. His hamburgers and hotdogs are also made in house and are amazing. I have been a customer of Tony's ever since I moved to Lilburn years ago. I buy steaks from him, and he always recommends what is best from his selection. I am a bit of a steak snob, and the product I get from here is amazing. Never disappointed. I also order a fresh, never frozen turkey from Tony every year for thanksgiving, and it is always a winner. I have gotten quail and goose from him as well. I find Tony to be honest, friendy and knowledgeable about his products. I enjoy the experience, and yes, he will talk to you about life and blessings. He always remembers me and my wife and kids, and asks me about them. It is one of the reasons I go there. He works by himself, so keep that in mind.
