This happened around 5pm Saturday and I might have the name of the winery wrong but it is located on the second floor.
I am 40. My husband is 45. Yes we look young. We know this and we argue with people about our age all the time. That's where something called state ID comes into play, if you don't believe us when we tell you then ask for our ID right. So my husband and I decided to get wine from #rwinecellar in The Galleria of Mt. Lebanon Mall, we had been there once before and loved the service so we came back and to our surprise we had the very same man who waited on us the 1st time. He was awesome the 1st time we saw him so we was excited to see him again. We walked into the winery and he came in behind us greeting us as he did the last time we saw him. All pleasantries ended very quickly.
My husband and I had decided on one of the 2 bottles we were going to purchase and was looking at the 2nd one when the salesman asked my husband to tell him our ages. He answered and told the salesman that he was 45 and I was 40. The man looked at us and said "well I can you right now that I know you are not 45 and you are not 40." We looked at each other very confused and we answered and told the man he was very wrong. He told me to put back the merchandise that I had in my hand which I did, he then looked at my husband and and told us to "get out of my store before I call security." He then went to the register to get his phone and proceeded to call security.
I grabbed my husband's arm and headed out the store. My husband tried to show his ID to the salesman but he told repeated get out. Because we was inside a mall, we waited for the elevator outside the winery to go to the lower level to leave, he came out the store talking to security telling them we wouldn't leave and we was being unruly, he even leaned over the rail to make sure we was leaving.
Not one time did the salesman ask us for our ID. At all. So we know exactly we he threw us out and we will never support this winery again. There is also a location on #smallmanstreet, and we won't support that location either. Because honestly if people like that salesman at the #mtlebanon location are employed with you then we don't want any part. Point was made and point taken.
This makes me never want to shop I'm...
Read moreThe Galleria is probably the smallest mall I’ve ever entered. It’s upscale for sure, with more well-known chains such as Starbucks and Bravo, and higher-end clothing and home decor/furniture stores I could never see myself buying from such as Anthropologie and Pottery Barn.
They have vending machines that, of all things, actually serve cupcakes which is definitely fun and different. Nearby luxury car dealers will occasionally park their vehicles inside for show purposes which is a nice, memorable touch.
There are many escalators that aren’t confusing to navigate and there’s PLENTY of space to walk around inside despite the store count which is convenient specifically during the holidays (when this mall gets totally decked out with decorations - looks beautiful inside). It’s a clean facility overall as well, with I believe an entire floor dedicated to one restaurant that gets busier than it probably should on Saturdays. It’s also home to a movie theater that people really seem to enjoy going to still!
My only real complaint is the way their parking area is laid out. The front has almost no parking and there’s a massive section of the parking lot around the back that I never knew about. There’s no way to exit the property by taking a left onto Gilkeson which is ridiculous especially considering how few spots there are to turn around when taking a right.
Other than that, this is a great place to spend an afternoon and relax on a weekend. Feel free to stop by, shop around, enjoy yourself a meal, and watch a movie in the heart of Mt Lebanon at...
Read moreI'm a member of a group of women who gets together to sew on Tuesday night. There can be 4 to 10 or more of us.This week we were told by a guard that management is no longer allowing tables in the gathering areas to be moved together to accommodate a group. ??? This mall has become a gathering place for many older groups who get together to eat, play games and cards, and sew. Now we're only allowed to gather in groups of 4? My friends and I come on a fairly quiet Tuesday evening at 6pm. There are always empty tables. We always move the tables and chairs back to their original setting, we never plug any cords into outlets, and we clean up before we leave. There are couch/chair areas to congregate and we were advised to use those instead. What if they're already occupied? Maybe we could sit at separate tables and visit during a group chat on Zoom? Our group was not happy with management's decision. Why have these large, welcoming areas to meet with friends if you're going to limit access? Update 9/12/2023: Apparently management got its wish. Tonight we went back for our sewing group, sat in the couch area in front of Panera's, and only one table had folks sitting at it the whole time we were there. Congrats! You've managed to drive people away and make your mall look like no one...
