Went here today for the first time since passing it and dying to go inside a week ago (I came here on a Monday). Here are my initial thoughts:
You get what you pay for: not all thrift stores are created equal. This one is the cleanest and cutest that Iāve been to probably ever. They have clean, comfortable dressing rooms that make you feel like youāre at a boutique. The people working there seem friendly and easy-going. The clothes are usually from a reputable brand and fairly priced (imagine fb marketplace or Poshmark pricing with a 10-20% discount, and you get to try everything on before you buy, plus no shipping fees). I would say itās so refreshing going to a thrift store knowing that the items are going to be good quality and clean, and that I wonāt have to smell any funky smells whenever Iām shopping. All of these are major āprosā in the pro/con list.
That being said, you get what you pay for as in the booth vendors do all the work for you by finding thrifted or used items and putting all those items in one place, instead of hunting things down yourself. Two things to note about that: higher prices, and less availability of those clothing items at other thrift stores at lower prices. I will say that as much as I love a clean store and high quality items at a great price, I also have noticed the other thrift stores in my area becoming depleted of these types of items that I used to buy so often. I have a love/hate relationship with the reselling culture because 1)I respect the hustle but 2)I like to thrift my own clothing, and the pickings have been very slim in the recent years/months.
I would definitely consider this store as more of a consignment boutique, given that most of these items are ārethriftedā, but I do think itās a great alternative to paying full price or even buying on previously mentioned websites! I also love that Iām supporting local businesses, even when I know a lot of the items could have been sold for less. I definitely recommend checking it out yourself! I ended up getting a Columbia jacket and a Free People tunic for $30 total. They also have menās and baby/kid clothing, and lots of accessories/shoes. And itās definitely better than the mall across...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is a great idea in theory, but I have shopped and sold items here and here are my thoughts:
Shopping: great deals/ prices on discount days.
Selling: -pro: I love that it is so simple to bring things in and sell with not too much of a hassle. -cons: EXPENSIVE. Not only is it $30 to reserve your booth, Indy Clover also keeps 1/3 of whatever you sell plus additional fees. Additionally, when you initially stock your booth, the staff count the items that you are selling to prevent shoplifting. If you restock your booth, the staff does not recount the items.
The biggest flaw is that there is no way to know which of your items have sold, as there are no sku or item numbering systems (so you never be able to tell if an item was stolen/misplaced/sold/etc.).
Additionally, there are multiple ways for your items to get lost in the store by way of being misplaced or moved into other booths.
A note about booth takedown: I paid an additional fee to have my items taken down and put in bags so I could close my booth and upon picking up my items the next week, I happened to look at the booth my items were previously in. Not only were several of my items STILL in the booth even though someone else had rented it out that week, but the staff had no reasoning for why the items were still there.
Overall, itās worth a shot if you want to make a few bucks and do not care if something is stolen or misplaced, but if you have anything of value, donāt waste your money or time...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery disappointed with Indy Clover. We really wanted to love it! My best friend booked a booth with another friend, they had they own inventory: with the pieces they left and the prices. When they pick up all their stuff and got the venmo the amount didnāt match $ They got only around $34 and their inventory was about $100. At this point they didnāt have any profit because only the booth was $30. They sent messages to ask about the situation and nobody answered with a solution. Definitely worst customer service. If you book with them make sure to have your own inventory with the items, prices and even photos of the things you are leaving. And donāt believe about the venmos they posted on their Instagram, for sure they are fake.
I WANT TO ANSWER AT WHAT THEY HAVE JUST REPLIED:
I had buy in Indy clover, I can look at my AMEX statements of about 1 year ago, so I have the right to give my opinion as a client. You can also look for your records. As a small business you have to take the responsibility of any inconvenience, and to answer promptly to any questions from any client, my friend had to wait 2 weeks for your answer because āyou didnāt see the messagesā (thats what you told her) About the claim that you falsify the payments, i say that IM NOT SURE THEY ARE REAL. I invite everyone to read REDDIT opinions, were most of the people complained about this.
Let me know if you need my amex statements where you can see I had buy here! Thank you for...
