Super fun. We would go way more but the pricing model sucks. For example, you'll get the most time playing if you go by yourself or as a couple 30-40 per person roughly (per hour) But if you invite some friends, you get the same amount of time divided by 4 or 6 people and you are still paying individually. There's no customer incentive to get more people to join you.
I know this is a franchise and so there may be little to no control over pricing here but they should seriously consider top golf's pricing model. It's per booth (room) so groups can split the cost, which makes sense cause you get less time per individual per hour. It makes a huge difference and will get more people there IMO. I know we'd go way more often if the price per person was comparable to a movie ticket and snacks if we invited two other couples! If more people come per experience, the word spreads faster and the cost to operate is per room, not individual... it doesn't make sense to me that they've selected this pricing model.
One more example. If my wife and I want to do a family outing with my son, there is no way we are gonna go here if it costs us 30-40 extra to take him vs just ourselves when that also means we get to play less while we are there. Topgolf or something similar is the clear winner for a family outing.
I'd love to see this change and if you and a date want to go, it's a great time and only then, a rather expensive but OK deal. Just don't...
Read moreImmersive Gamebox is definitely a unique and fun experience. You step into a 12x12 foot room, put on a headpiece that tracks your movements, and get ready for some interactive gaming. The headpiece is decently accurate, but I found it rather uncomfortable—it kind of digs into your head, even with some padding on it. Three of the four walls display projections, and you're supposed to be able to touch the walls to interact with the game, which adds to the immersion. Periodically, pop-ups offer you the option to order drinks while playing, which is a nice touch.
I went with three players, and we had a good time. We tried the Black Mirror experience, which was fun, though after a while, some of the games started to feel a bit repetitive. I'm really curious to go back and try the Ghostbusters game—it looks like it might have more variety and interaction. If I do, I'll be sure to update this review. One thing to note: while you're supposed to be able to use the walls as a touch surface, none of the games in the Black Mirror experience actually utilized this feature.
Overall, we had a fun time, and it was cool to try something new. I was going to say it was an 'outside-the-box' experience, but in this case, you're...
Read moreNot a bad experience, but not an amazing one either, very average. Did Black Mirror with 3 other adults, it was enjoyable, not necessarily “fun”, and after a while it got a little mundane. I also was not a big fan of the waiting time while in the game, you have to take turns with the games so there’s a lot of down time. It’s entertaining for a few minutes to watch the others turns, but by the end it leaves something to be desired. We smiled and laughed throughout it but when we left we were feeling a little underwhelmed, the whole time I was expecting something a little more enjoyable. I would give it a 4 star since it wasn’t a bad experience, but the price on top of the slightly above average experience was the kicker. Overall it was a pleasant experience, by no means bad or unenjoyable, but would much rather do an exciting escape room with the same amount of money. I think this could be super fun for younger kids though, like 12 and younger. I think it was worth it to go this once to know what it was like, but I don’t think I’d go again. (Our host was also super kind, so thumbs...
