this is the 2nd time i have tried VIA313 and i really want to like them but both visits have been fraught with issues and poor quality.
my first visit i was during their first week and we were met with a shortage of gluten free crust. i understand and accept shortages and do not hold this against them, although for opening week i would think they would have been more prepared. we were even given gift certs for a free pizza to compensate however it was still disappointing. we had sat for several minutes waiting for a server only to finally find out we couldn't eat. it was a waste of time that could have been avoided by a proper server at least greeting us and mentioning any notes from the kitchen. "hello, glad you are here! we are a little short staffed this evening however i will be with as soon as possible. we want to let you know we are out of (gluten free crusts or pepperoni or pesto etc.) tonight. Be with you very soon."
the 2nd time i decided to order out. i made my order, got a time and appeared promptly only to wait an additional 20 minutes because, as i found out, one of our pizza's had been dropped and needed to be remade. that is ok and i appreciate the turn, unfortunately the pizza that was remade was done sloppy and with no attention. there was one piece that literally had two pieces of topping on it. the other pizza, that was not dropped, was cooked on a dirty pan. how do i know? well, because my Detroiter tasted of cinnamon bread and the bottom was sweet from the glaze!
for a pizza that lists at $26 but ends up costing me $35 out the door because i added pesto and arugula, this thing should have been awesome. nope. three tablespoons of pesto and a handful of arugula cost almost $10 and then it is cooked on a dirty pan. wtf?!?
i have to drive from bountiful to visit this store and the two times i have tried have been horribly disappointing. if you cant even outmatch pizza hut then it is time to consider...
Read moreI’ve generally had a great experience with Via 313, at both the Sandy and Murray locations but recently had a very poor experience in Murray. I was there with a group of 5 and had a very nice waitress who made sure she had all of our orders correct (we had a mix of vegans and gluten free people). However when the pizzas arrived, we quickly discovered that 4 of the 5 were incorrect. Vegans were served meat and dairy, someone who ordered dairy cheese got vegan cheese and there was also a pizza that should have been gluten free, but was not. We alerted the waitress, who took the incorrect pizzas away and we then watched a heated argument ensue in the kitchen. A guy came over and insisted everything was correct and was very rude and condescending. The mistakes were obvious to anyone with eyeballs, and arguing with us about it was very unprofessional. Some people had allergies and another an autoimmune condition, and in my opinion, when dealing with dietary restrictions or allergies, if there’s even a 1% chance the order is wrong, it should be replaced. Because of the mixup, we were told they would comp us for 4 pizzas. Sounds fine to us, but then we get the bill and all they did was NOT charge us for the pizzas they messed up and had to remake. AND they ran out of plant based pepperoni and couldn’t include it on the new pizzas, but we were still charged for it. I also emailed the company directly through their website two weeks ago but have not heard back at all. I used to recommend this place all the time, but I’m now worried about allergies and aggressive staff. I was always okay with the price because I think the food is great, but this situation has made me question if...
Read moreTonight we went for my husband's birthday with the family. The food was good with the exception of one the burned thin crust pizza. My son ordered and refused to eat. (My daughter did eat her half even though it was burned.) The waitress was super nice and attentive. She let us use our coupons we got for the grand opening and brought cinnamon sticks for the table and ice cream for my husband. When she found out it was also my daughter's birthday two days ago she brought her ice cream as well. On the house. It was a super nice gesture we really appreciated that. She even brought my mom gluten free cinnamon sticks because she's gluten free. (BTW their gluten free dough is really good! Big kudos. ) We had everyone from Boomers to Gen Alpha and all generations in between in our party so I don't think I say this as an old person, but all 11 of us were super annoyed by the obnoxious music. It litraly was giving me anxiety to the point where I had constant urge to just walk out. I am hard of hearing and wear hearing aids. I had to take them out and it was almost tollarable at that point because I'm so deaf, but as a result I could not hear anything anyone said. ....but I couldn't hear anyone over the music before either. We did ask them to turn the music down, and if they did it was not a noticeable amount. It made it impossible to have a conversation with people across the table. This was a huge trun off and we decided we will not dine in again. It felt like we were at some night club by the kind of music that was playing and as loud as it was and not at a dining establishment. What is the appeal of such...
