If there was a zero I would have used it. I bought my Designer 1 years ago from Lakeshore Sewing. They have worked on it before for repairs. This year my machine quit running. Lakeshore looked at it, said it needed a new motor, gave me an estimate of $450. Offered me $200 on a trade in. We had much medical going on and I didn't get it fixed. I had another repairman look at it this week, he cleaned it of a knotted up mess on the pick up arm and it runs great. But he told me the cutting blade and the arms are missing off the thread cutter. I was having no problem with the thread cutter. I called Lakeshore to get my parts back. He wanted me to bring my machine back in which will never happen again. Anyway he hung up on me...the second call ended with another hang up and I've been banned from his store. He copped an attitude when I told him I took it to non certified Viking repairman who was honest and didn't steal parts off my machine. He didn't need to ban me I will never step foot in that...
