If youâre thinking about boarding your beloved pet to the Cats Meow please seriously reconsider doing so. My poor Tillie was boarding at what we thought was a wonderful, clean and safe environment but suffered a catastrophic and blatantly preventable emergency and had to be euthanized while I was out of the country. Our story has been a living nightmare and others should be aware of this businessâs abysmal, incompetent and negligent care and concern under their care. My husband and I had planned to go on a cruise for our anniversary the end of April. Being a client of cats meow for many years, we thought that boarding them would be the best and safest option considering my sweet Tillie girl was a diabetic. Do Know she was regulated and otherwise a happy and a healthy cat. Many clients including myself chose to board them here under the assumption that they supposedly have full time veterinarians who help monitor boarding pets who require medications ( which FYI is a complete lie). They were responsible for my diabetic cat while I was on this cruise. While in the care of Catâs Meow she was administered too much insulin, had a traumatic experience, and then had to be put down.
We left her on a Saturday morning. I made a chart about when she needed her insulin and what she liked & didn't like to try to make the experience as smooth as possible. Being scared and stressed, she wasn't eating. Anyone familiar with diabetes knows the number one rule is that the animal MUST eat before you give insulin! But Kim (the owner).. "the cat lady"... still gave MORE insulin on Sunday. Well Monday morning, Cindy found Tillie, and she was non responsive. Her temperature was 90 degrees, blood sugar was 54. They put her on a heating pad and gave her fluids and a catheter. She then began having seizures.
They recomend her to the emergency vet. My Angel took her (MB). .. When she arrived there she was in bad shape, unable to stand, going in left circles, and maybe gone blind. Likely a stroke due to the insulin overdose she was given.. (you can even ask Google). .. .. We were told she had about a 25% chance of making it.... We couldn't get to her for 3 more days, and wouldn't make her suffer.
Obviously "the cat lady" did not give my baby the special care and attention she needed.
... Enjoy the random cats wondering around while you Wait. They don't even care enough to take the time to clean the eyes of some. Ohh, To make matters worse, Saturday morning when we first arrived, we had to ask them to clean all the hair off of the climber toy that was in her room.
Bottom line: whether you're boarding or grooming your cat, take care. This business has proven its negligence and it's important that what happened to Tillie doesn't happen to another beloved pet. Find another facility that is better equipped, better informed, and TRULY cares.

Read moreWorse experience I have ever had with a Veterinary clinic â Very untrained, very rude and very unprofessional phone receptionists. They answer the phone with a bad âattitude like I owe them something, they have no clue what is the meaning of customer service They have setup the worst grooming service which they brag about on their website â They are under staffed with only one groomer â â They are too cheap to hire someone who can specialize in answering the phone and schedule appointment âfor their third party grooming vendor, which is by the way they the only groomer they have, and probably works all day and do not have time to call back customers to schedule appointments â So when you call to schedule a grooming appointment, the phone receptionist who answers the phone âwith an attitude, take your name and phone number and you will be lucky if she remembers to pass it on to the âthird party groomer, and even is she remembers to give the groomer your phone number you will have a âbetter chance seeing Jesus then for this groomer to call you back â It happens to me twice; I called them twice to schedule a grooming appointment, their only groomer never âcalled me back in the two times in which I called.â When I was sarcastic with my second phone call with the rude and unprofessional phone receptionist, âbecause I was tired of them not calling back to schedule a grooming appointment, I received a very rude âand unprofessional email from Alicia the Practice Manager accusing of threatening and harassing their rude âand unprofessional phone receptionists and told me they are no longer want to provide service to my cats, âeven though I have only one CAT
Instead on investigating what were the issues and gather facts from me and not only from her staff since I âam the customer, she blasted me with very unprofessional email â
This office did not even bother to make a call to find out why was I upset or is there anything they can do âto resolve the issue but instead the elected to terminate their relationship with me as customer â
They have an attitude because they think customers are desperate for their service because they do cats âonly, they have no competition, they can afford to be abusive and rude and unprofessional to their âcustomers
so one upset customer doesnât matter to them, they donât care. But even one unhappy âcustomer like me, I thought I have the right to tell the public that this Veterinary clinic âis not perfect as âyou might think. The way I was treated as a customer by your phone receptionist âand by Alicia the Practice Manager was totally rude, unprofessional and pathetic â I will never do any business with this clinic again and word of mouth is better than any website ,advertisement or âmarketing campaign that this clinic have I will make sure I tell my experience this vet clinic to all my family and...
Read moreI can't say enough about how wonderful the Cat's Meow is! I've been going there for over 8 years now and so appreciate the excellent care my cats have always received. I use ALL of their services!
Dr. Kate has been amazing with my elderly cats helping to make them more comfortable with the various ailments that occur as a cat ages. Just mention Gracie to any of the staff and they'll know who you're talking about! Gracie had so many issues and required a lot of medications that they always administered lovingly. I was able to board her and feel confident that she was well cared for and that her meds were given on time.
The cat suites for boarding are roomy and each have a window view. They are very well maintained and your cats will get a lot of attention throughout the day.
I love the groomers! My Liberace is an adorable long haired ginger who gets the Lion Cut twice a year. It's so hot here in the South so this cut is not only adorable but also functional. Liberace preens after every cut, you can tell it makes him feel more comfortable in these hot and humid temperatures.
My Cliff was adopted through the Cat's Meow. They partner with Sav-R-Cats and other rescue organizations and they provide neutering/spay services and medical care to the rescue cats. Cliff happened to be 1 of 17 cats that were dumped at Sav-R-Cats over 7 years ago and he has been one of the best additions to my feline family ever! Loads of personality.
The staff is wonderful and caring. It gets pretty crazy in the waiting area at times, especially on surgery days and the days they are taking care of the rescue cats so just be patient. The staff is continually multi-tasking and they handle those times of chaos with a smile on their face so keep one on yours! It's worth it!!
I also get my flea and tick meds from them, best price around! They also offer RX foods for your cat and essential oils by DoTerra for optimal pet care.
It really is an amazing place and we're so lucky that they're here in...
