El Buen Sabor — Restaurant in South Carolina

I hate to give bad reviews but this place was terrible! We took my daughter out to eat for her birthday and decided to give this place a shot. NEVER again! The waitress was very rude to us the whole time. When we were almost done a couple came in and she snapped right out of that! Greeting them like they were her best friends. Maybe it was our race I don’t know. Could not honestly figure it out. Then the grilled chicken was so rubbery I refused to eat it I think it was bad! Then we ordered 4 tamales and only got 3 but those three tasted like chemicals and had big chunks of bone in them. One was for a child which obviously could not eat. The rice tasted like water. Someone got a shrimp cocktail with a frozen shrimp at the bottom. And every dish had the waitresses fingers in the food. They never even took all the decor down from the first owners and that was an Italian restaurant. I wanted to root for them but if they don’t care what they are serving or anything why should anyone else? It was disgusting and we all left disgusted and hungry! Two whole plates could not even be eaten and yet they still made us pay for it!!!!! I will never go back and honestly very angry that they didn’t even recognize...

On Saturday, 2/24/24 at approximately 5:00 pm we went into El Buen Sabor and ordered our dinners to go. I ordered a taco salad, and my partner ordered 2 enchiladas, 2 tacos, and rice. They were not busy at all. Upon returning home, anxious to eat, I found my taco salad had: ground beef, lettuce, sliced radish, tomato and NOTHING ELSE. My partners meal was cold, chicken was dry, did not have any flavor. So disappointed! We had been wanting to try out our neighborhood mexican restaurant and wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt so I phoned them. Sadie answered the phone and I explained to her what we had been given for our meals. She asked if she could call me back and I said of course and gave her my name and phone number. It is now Monday and as of this writing, I've heard nothing back from Sadie or anyone else at this establishment. There was no cheese, no Onion, asked for sour cream and no sour cream. No salsa, no taco/chips. No avocado. This was the worst restaurant that I have ever had the misfortune of ordering from. Please don't...

I unfortunately do not have photos to back up what I and my family ate but overall the food was okay. The chips with salsa they gave was alright, for some reason the salsa tasted a bit sour. They said the Horchata was made from scratch but as someone who’s eaten at many Latin/ Mexican restaurants in Charleston SC, it wasn’t made from scratch at all. Finally, my food was decent, i got the milanesa de pollo (breaded chicken) but it seems it didn’t have enough salt and the rice was bland, the salad and beans were good though! My family got their food as well but it also didn’t have a lot of seasoning. The show for tonight though was the Pollo con Tajadas! The service can use a bit more experience as they are the face of the business, it showed that the server did not have much experience in customer greetings and services such as smiling or checking up at least twice.
