I had high expectations coming in, but unfortunately I left disappointed â not because of anything outrageous, but because of a mix of poor customer service and a lack of basic options.
They advertise pizza by the slice, which is fine, but at the time I visited the only slice option was supposed to be cheese â and even that wasnât available. I had wanted something like a Philly cheesesteak slice, but figured Iâd just go with cheese if thatâs what they had. But then I was told there was no cheese pizza ready, which was confusing.
What really made me decide to write this review, though, was the attitude of the staff. The woman at the counter didnât greet me or ask what I wanted â she looked like she didnât want to be there, and her energy showed it. When I asked about the pizza, she gave snarky, dismissive answers, and then reluctantly asked the kitchen to make a cheese slice for me. The kitchen staff started openly complaining about having to make it, saying they were too busy â which, to be honest, was kind of shocking. If you offer something on your menu, I donât think itâs unreasonable for a customer to expect that it can be made without pushback.
Then, when the pizza was ready, instead of calling my name or bringing it over, she just shouted âmiss, miss!â from across the room, which was confusing since I didnât see anything in her hand. I walked up, and only then did she grab the box and hand it to me without saying anything â no âthank you,â no âhave a good day,â nothing.
The wait wasnât terrible, and the food wasnât bad, but the overall vibe was just cold and unwelcoming. I was genuinely excited to try this place, and I came in respectful and patient â but I left feeling like I wasnât welcome there.
I donât usually leave reviews like this, but I do think customer service matters just as much as the food. Hopefully this was just a bad day, but it left a bad taste...
Read moreLet me first say that the pain slice of pizza was one of the best I've had in the Grand Strand area. It was my first time here, so I wanted to try a couple of items. The plain slice had a nice crisp undercarriage and a good mix of a quality cheese and sauce. The 2nd item i tried was what they called the Penn Station slice. This was a square pizza on par with a Sicilian style. The bottom was heavily oiled, which led to a solid crisp, but the slice comes sauced, without cheese and it left me wanting more. It tasted fine, but it was just missing something. The final item I ordered was a chicken parm sandwich. It is available in 2 sizes and if ib remember right it was 7 inch and 10 inch. This sandwich was my big let down. For starters, the bun was just way too soft. For some reason, they decided to sprinkle the unnecessary chopped greens on top of it, which I absolutely hate. I can't even really tell you how the sandwich tasted because their was so much sauce on it that that was all I could taste. The sandwich was an absolute mess as I tried to eat it. I will absolutely go back for the pizza and to hopefully be able to speak with the owner. This place has great potential and just needs to work on a few items that are easily fixed. I didn't get to speak with anyone on this trip in but will offer my suggestions as respectively as I can on my next stop in. And like I said, that plain slice alone will be enough to...
Read moreA slice of pizza heaven. This local New York style pizzeria might be off the beaten path but has established itself with its made from scratch, fresh ingredients, authentic pies and more. Menu is a plethora of pizzas, Sicilian and grandma shell pizzas, vegan and gluten-free pizzas, rolls, calzones and Strombolis, subs, sandwiches and wraps, pasta dishes, salads, desserts and more. Coke products, a line of beers on draft and prosecco on tap. Setup is simple with an order counter, pizza by the slice and dessert display cases, a few tables and booths in a bright, vaulted dining area and a larger outdoor patio with picnic tables. My wife and I ordered some slices of pizza and the much talked about baked garlic knots, which are basted in garlic oil, fresh ground garlic, Parmesan and fresh parsley. Baked to perfect with a chewy texture and light flavoring. Marina sauce came on the side. Their slice of Meat Mania was the traditional meat lovers with ground beef, pepperoni, ham, bacon, sausage, cheese and their own sauce. Ample slice of pie with plenty of toppings and taste. Service was reasonable and friendly and being we just came for slices it wasnât a big deal, but a menu could have been available or offered. Sitting outside on a beautiful fall day was a plus and the food was brought out to us. Delivery is available locally and live music has been known to be played out on the patio in...
