Our Story with Recreation USA- Purchased a brand new Wildwood. They put on their customer service face and went to sale. We believed the âfamily owned, customer firstâ approach they were putting out but boy were we wrong. We used the camper 1 time later that month after the sale July 2024 and then put it under a covered metal carport style storage with a vinyl full enclosed cover over it to protect the sides. (Fully Winterized)
6 months later we get it out and get it ready for our 2nd ever trip in a new camper. While still in my yard the EZ pitch arms snap on the awning due to rust which almost sends the awning over the roof. We call around everywhere locally and they say â8 weeks out for repairsâ we donât have 8 weeks so we buy the parts and repair it. No big deal, $600 worth of parts on a âbrand new camperâ We got on the trip. First night the toilet valve leaks in the floor and the toilet wonât stop running. We call out a Mobil service tech, $250 later itâs fixed. We try to submit a claim with this aftermarket warranty company that is supposedly available 24/7 365- wrong. They donât work weekends and that is when most people are out. They also donât reimburse for work that was done without pre approval. So you have to decide to live with a problem for several days or not get paid back from the warranty company that costed over $4,000. Which also come to find out according to Camping world RV service dept, itâs the worst to deal with. So then another night passes. It rains and water comes all inside the camper from the slide out area. Once again, brand new camper, stored properly. Come to find out it has a hole in the membrane on the slide out and previous water damage from its time at the dealership sitting on the lot. I didnât think to check that at the dealer and evidently they didnât either. So we send an email, call Juli, call Kevin, Call Art I believe that was his name (nice guy). The service manager Kevin calls me. Talks to me. Reassures me they will get this stuff resolved and scheduled an appointment for June 9th. They are âso sorryâ they claim this isnât like them. They understand my frustrations. I sent pictures, videos etc to their service department like I was asked and get no response. We schedule a vacation in Myrtle Beach at a campground expecting to drop our camper off on June 9th to have these issues resolved. I call to speak to Kevin and he wonât get on the phone to confirm my appointment. He Returned none of my phone calls and ghosted me. No one in the service department could confirm I had an appointment nor knew what I was calling about. They had no communications on the issues and no knowledge of any of this. We take the vacation, call on Monday the 9th, same response, same outcome. So we decide not to leave the camper 5 hours from home with a company that does not do what they say they are going to do. Recreation USA sold us a ânew camperâ with extensive water damage, other minor damage, mislead us, misguided us. Iâm not sure what exactly my options are moving forward.
You have been warned. You have been shown proof and more importantly I appreciate you all reading this long review.
The deal may seem great and the smile seem genuine. But I promise you that they are not there for you after the sale. Also youâll notice several bad reviews specifically mentioning Kevin and that seems to be a very consistent failure on Recreation USAâs part.
Recreation USA Now gets to post the generic- We are sorry to hear about this. Please give us a call. Message-
Iâve spoken to yall many times and yall have made zero efforts on fixing anything past our initial phone conversation. Kevin has been no help and it states clearly in my review why I didnât leave my camper.
Who in their right minds would leave their $30,000 camper 5 hours away when the trust is broken and no one will return calls or confirm.
If yall cared, youâd call with a resolution . But that would require you doing what you say you are going to. Instead you post the same generic â call us â on...
Read moreBy far the worst camper dealership to deal with in or around Myrtle Beach⌠While we were on vacation we decided to trade in our camper for a you hauler (huge mistake) wish we never would have done it considering there was absolutely nothing wrong with our camper- anyways after trading and getting home with our new camper purchased from Recreation USA we decided to fire up the generator to make sure everything was working correctly (which they stated they had put fuel in the generator- that was a lie- not a drop what so ever) once filling it up and starting it long and behold it wouldnât pull anything in the camper- not even the lights⌠After calling several times and them finally getting someone to come to our house to check it out (considering we live 4 hrs from Recreations USA location) the service tech realized that the idiots had wired it to were the power was feeding back into the drop cord instead of the camper⌠oh and not to mention apparently this company had a hard time getting in contact with Recreation USA to get paid for there services because they had reached back out to me wanting a contact number due to not getting any response back⌠Now a month later we decided to book a camping trip with friends- get to the location to set up everything and the self leveling system goes absolutely crazy and has one jack out on the ground another completely up and you canât make any of them come down separately to get the camper level (at this time we are 1 hour from them)& after going back and forth on the phone raising hell- they send out a tech- the tech states that the board is bad in the system and it needs to be replaced-(GRANTED THE CAMPER IS BRAND NEW 2025 just purchased the end of OCT 2024) so considering we are originally 4 hours from them they finally send out a tech to our house (which the tech pulls up in a drug dealer looking van claiming he has worked on camper for 20 years) but yet he is going inside the camper to work on the self leveling system when it is clearly located in the outside storage compartment⌠& the tech stated that they never told him anything about what was going on or what the prior tech had said was wrong⌠Also the company that they had sent out to our house about the generator apparently will not do business for them anymore considering they wouldnât answer the phone when they tried to contact them about the leveling system (which is probably the reason the dope head was sent out) If you want to purchase a camper while at Myrtle Beach go to Carolina RV- trust worthy, honest and all around great people to deal with- Recreation USA is a total joke!!! Now to report to the Better Business Bureau in hopes someone else doesnât have to deal with the same crap and ending up with a lemon...
Read moreI just wanted to take the time and say what a phenomenal experience I had buying a camper with Recreation USA!!! We bought a brand new 2024 Forrest River 4002 fb 5th wheel camper, this was our first camper. My salesman was Nathan and he made the process very easy and was available any time we had questions for him. Julie handled all of the financing and was extremely knowledgeable, she went above and beyond to find us the best rates and financing that she could get us. She was also able to get us some other really great discounts. We drove from Georgia to come and pick up the camper and when we arrived it was very welcoming. Chris the tech guy, spent well over an hour showing me all the ins and out of this massive camper. He showed me how everything worked and was able to answer all the questions I had from maintance to repairs. They definitely picked the right guy for this job, he was super nice and really knew his stuff. Due to some confusion, we were sent to the other location for some missing paperwork. I met the owners Mother there on site, she was personally waiting with papers in hand for me. She apologized for any inconvenience and made everything right, by the time we left. I really appreciated it considering how far we drove. Like I said from start to finish the process was great and every person I met or dealt with was just as nice as could be. I highly recommend Recreation USA, not to mention the fact that the camper was around $13k less, then here in Georgia!!! Thanks again for the hospitality and here's to a job well done. Sincerely, The...
