Previously an Aldi shopper, and I am so glad that we have one here now. Much better prices all around, and it's so straightforward.
Sure, there's some items they may not have, but you get used to either doing without (and potentially spending less) or modifying your list. Brand names will likely not be too much less on price, but their brands are definitely less in price and practically the same. Random, but they have really good prices for cheese.
Tips for new shoppers: Bring a quarter for the carts (you'll get it back). Bring your own big bags, and make sure one of them is a cold bag, if you're buying cold stuff. For the checkouts, place your grocery cart immediately next to the attendant after the person in front of you removes it. After you pay, hop to it and move over to the counter underneath the big Aldi logo if you want to reorganize anything into boxes or bags before you head out. Otherwise, you will be hogging up space in a quickly-moving area. If this is worrisome for you, I'd go during a less busy time. 9am, when they open, seemed good for slower-paced folks.

Read moreGreat experience; the employees were very friendly and answered some background questions I had. Some of the items could be more pricier than Walmart, they just opened though, so I understand getting back the money owed for the transition from Big Lots.
For those who are New to Aldi's: You will need a quarter to use their carts (You will get it back after placing the carts back where you pull them from). Also, you will need your own tote bags. I've heard you can also ask a cashier for a Quarter and they'll oblige so you can get a cart.
If Aldi's ever needs a Stock Associate; feel free to contact me and I'd love to work with you.
