This place was so terrible I felt obligated to write a review to warn other people about it. I got a one meat rib plate. I don't remember the exact price but it was over $10. It came with four ribs and two sides, I went with coleslaw and BBQ baked beans. The ribs were small and dry. I want to express how dry they were. Disturbingly dry. Even with the BBQ sauce poured and dipped it was dry. The ribs had to have been poorly cooked because they were stuck to the bone. I can't describe it because every rib I've ever eaten from a BBQ joint has fallen off the bone or was extremely easy to eat off the bone. These ribs were stuck and not coming off. I've had a ton of BBQ in my life. Before moving out here I worked next door to a BBQ joint. I ate there so much I began disliking their food. This place in Nacohdoches makes me wish I could take away anything I've ever said negative about the BBQ at the joint I went to at my old home. Then the sides; the BBQ baked beans were canned beans. Canned beans. What kind of respectable BBQ restaurant serves canned beans? The best thing on this one meat plate was the coleslaw. By saying it was the best thing is not implying that it was good. The coleslaw was a generic mass produced food that you could get from any deli at Walmart.

In the short just of it, do not go here. I can't recommend a good BBQ joint yet as I have yet to find one, but by far this is the worst place I have ever been in my entire life that not only specializes in making BBQ, but food in general. DO NOT WASTE YOUR...

We pulled through the The BBQ House drive through and reviewed their menu. We decided on a couple of turkey and pork "po-boys" as well as a few sidesides. Once we pulled up to the window and placed our order we were told that Sudays were not the best time to visit as most of their meat choices were sold out (along with the banana pudding). We settled for a couple beef "po-boys" along with three side orders (beacuse po-boys dont come with sides) and a slice of pecan pie. We paid $25.22, recieved our food and noticed the bread was not the same French loaf bread as advertised. It was in fact a plain hamburger bun. When we asked about the bread we were told that they were out of the French loaf as well and have been for over a year. My issue with the service is i paid for two $7.59 po-boys along with three extra sides at $1.99 each and a cold pre-packaged pecan pie. I did not recie a po-boy, i got an overcharge beef sandwich and paid extra for sides. Where as i could have got a sandwich plate that came with two sides for $6.59 each. I overpaid and did not receive what i ordered. I will not be going back...

Confusing price list. See a price on the menu, you expect to pay that price. Get charged something different and get told it all equals out to the same thing. OK, here's the deal....... On the menu, it says sandwich plate with 2 sides plus a drink $8.78...... I was charged $6.59 for a sandwich plate which comes with 1side, + another side + charged for a drink. OK, so I got an extra side and the drink was $2.19 and it DOES equal out to be the same before tax. But, hey why all the confusion, just ring up $8.78 like the sign says and be done with it. Avoid the hassle at the register with confusing prices. I did not enjoy the meal after all the hassle of pricing, even when it did come out the same. I will probably not visit there again. Sorry. TOO...

I was in town for a work event and to start moving furniture to our new house in Houston. It was a long day of packing up a truck and my brother wanted a Beef & Link Po-Boy. He couldn’t have made a better choice for lunch. The link has just the right heat and the beef is smoked to perfection! They chop the meat in front of you, shake on more seasonings and add their homemade bbq sauce. It is all amazing! I didn’t get any side this time but I have tried them all and they are great! Remember if you want a Ribeye Po-Boy you should be there before the lunch rush.

Stopped by The BBQ Shop for lunch while passing thru town. I’m glad I did! What a great BBQ joint. It opened in 1959! We enjoyed brisket & pulled pork sandwiches with beans, slaw, pimento cheese stuffed jalapeño and apple cobbler with sweet tea. I was all delicious! I especially enjoyed the cobbler. It was very reasonably priced, a great atmosphere and the service was top shelf. Don’t change a thing. I’ll drop by next time I’m in town.
