If I could give a 0-star rating, I would. I had Lyme disease (not a surprise on Nantucket), and they put me in the ER for testing. They also needlessly gave me IV fluids. They were hesitant to give me antibiotics before the blood test came back in three days, and I was too dizzy and disoriented to argue, so I let them discharge me. Days later, I called asking if my results were in, and the person on the line rudely replied that I'm not supposed to call and that they would call me when the results are in before hanging up on me. I call the next day anyway, and the nurse went, "Oh, actually, I do have your results. They're negative." Then, hung up. I had characteristic Lyme symptoms for a week now: extreme fatigue, dizziness, random shooting pains, muscle soreness, etc. Lyme disease often does not show up on blood tests for weeks - up to SIX WEEKS. After that, I went to a CVS MINUTE CLINIC in Boston, and they treated me better than a full-blown hospital! I got two weeks' worth of doxycycline hyclate, and within just the first TWO DAYS, I was able to walk normally again. Finished the rest of my antibiotics, but my recovery took a long time because my symptoms were allowed to worsen. Now, I get random, localized pain like I broke a bone, and I have to hope that my post-treatment symptoms don't get much worse than that.

A simple blood test is what I needed and after I told them what my symptoms were they told me to go over to the hospital the ER I told him I didn’t have insurance for the ER. Meanwhile I pay so much money and health insurance. The blood test ended up costing me $1600.

It was a basic blood test in urgent care could’ve done it. I felt like I was manipulated and taking advantage of.

The blood test came back. They said nothing showed up and that was that. Meanwhile, it turned out. I was having an allergic reaction to something and fortunately a family friend figured it out because I was entering into a scary place.

So I don’t have a lot to say on the positive side it cost me so much money and aggravation with no real care or insight. Very discouraging and quite frankly, it could’ve really become an true emergency Had it not been for the family friend...

First of all the room i was in had fresh blood on the ceiling and it was above my bed. Horrible i went to the ER and they didnt do anything they took my vitals and thats it nurse came in and told me i think this is what your condition is and they tried perscribing me steroids. They had me wait 3 hours just to see me for 5 minutes and i heard the nurses saying they needed the room i was in and they said as soon as the room is available they can take my bed. These people came in and took me out of the room i was in took the bed and put me in a different room. They had me wait another hour for discharge papers i remind you they rushed me out the room because they needed the room i was in didnt check me didnt make give me peace of mind. I was sent home with out being checked !!! Never again . I dont care what any one says these doctors on island...
