This place is ridiculously good. They have a vast, staggering, one-of-everything selection, while at the same time never seeming to be out of stock of anything. Every time I go there, I wind up wasting a half hour staring at stuff I didn't even know I needed yet. And the weird part is, I don't even do model trains, which is like half the purpose of this store.
If you do anything in miniature, from trains, to RC airplanes, to models, to 40k (they even sell MTG if you can't be bothered to go next door to the proper game shop), you'll find what you're looking for. You can easily spend hours browsing through all of their offerings, and they can easily order something for you if they don't already have it. They've got: MTG, automobile/plane/military/historical models in a variety of scales, LEGOS, everything you need for trains and your model railroad layout (Z through G!!), Warhammer, puzzles, games, DnD books and materials, pine car derby supplies, model rockets, an incredible selection of paints, ready-to-go kits, and everything in between. It is simply my favorite store, and a local institution. Cozy, well-stocked, comforting and welcoming-- I hope you'll fall in love like I did.

They have a really great selection of Vallejo and Tamiya paints as well as washes, varnishes, thinners, oil paints etc. They have tons of kits; most of them are older though they also sell new kits here. I was surprised to see one of the brand new Takom battleship turrets on top the shelf last time I visited. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable. Last time I shopped here the guy at the counter was telling me some cool facts about the kits I bought as I was checking out. I’ve never had a bad experience at Loose Caboose. If you need anything model related shop here, it’s way better than...
