Soundz Plus — Local services in Naperville

This is the shop, and Daniel is the guy, that you hope to one day find. The utmost in professionalism. Never once did I feel like my little Forester job was less important than the other fancy cars sitting around that cost ten times as much. I didn't even get a super high end setup - it was all about what I wanted and Daniel made sure I got the system I was looking for. He even reused an indash Alpine amp I had attached to my stock head unit, telling me those units are great and passing up an opportunity to sell me an amp. I could not be happier with their customer service or the end product - it's exactly what I wanted. And just like another reviewer noted, Daniel sat with me in my car after the job was complete, helped me sync my phone via bluetooth and took the time to introduce me to my new system and answer my questions - completely unrushed, like he had nothing else to do.

A word to the wise: this isn't the place where you negotiate and haggle prices. This is the place you come to get it done right - and the place that will provide followup support without nickel-and-diming you. I had a little bit of sticker shock at first but once I got my car back I knew I made the right choice. The prices are indeed fair for the work they do. I am so glad the inept salesperson at Frys gave me a bad vibe and I didn't pull the trigger there. There's simply no comparison between the hourly employee at Frys and Daniel, the professional who's got a passion for what he does and can deliver outside-of-the-box custom solutions. I've realized that I will never understand the true level of quality and detail that went into my install, but I do appreciate it. The glimpses I've had so far make me wonder what I'll never see or know (e.g. fine tuning of the amps and sub, crossover settings, pre-programming speaker distances and timing, pro-level taping and routing of wires...) Daniel did explain to me some of their installation practices (some of which which seemed like overkill to this DIYer) that speak to the irreproachable caliber of work you will get from Soundz Plus.

When Daniel called me a couple weeks after install to ask how things were, I told him how disappointed I was that now, with my lifelong dream of having a 13 band eq at my fingertips achieved, I can hardly make any improvements to the sound because the speakers are tuned and balanced so damn well!

It might sting the wallet a little bit, but this is definitely a "cry once" deal. ...

AUGUST 2018 UPDATE: I took my car here a second time. The work is amazing just like a few months ago. I ended up getting a different car that had different problems. Again, I worked with Daniel and he was willing to work with what I needed; speaker mount fabrication, tweeter mounting, and partial install. I opted to finish the install myself and they were willing to work with that. Tweeter mounts ended up looking really nice and the speakers were mounted properly. I love their attention to detail and is the reason why I choose Soundz Plus. I don't care about price, as long as the job gets done properly the first time. Daniel has always been a great help and is open to follow up calls. Both occasions, I had to call back to make sure what was done particularly and Daniel had all my questions answered. Come here if you want your audio done right!

Feb 2018: I took my car to this place and it was the best choice I made. I have enough knowledge to connect aftermarket audio efficiently, but my car was something else. I did a partial install and got stuck due to molex plugs and other complications. I worked with Daniel and he knows what he's talking about. This place is open to doing installations with you. What I mean by that is; they'll work with you on whatever it is you need whether it be routing some speaker wires, drilling holes, or custom fabrication for speaker brackets. This place knows car audio, but most importantly is passionate about it as you are and is willing to work with you to achieve the sound that you want. Even after I received my car back, I ran into more issues and called Daniel back. Right away, I got a timely response and was successful with my install. Keep in mind that I had my own set of speakers and they were still willing to work with me. Many other shops I called wouldn't do work because I didn't purchase product from them. I live in Indianapolis and had the guys at Soundz Plus install a stereo in a new Maserati I picked up in Naperville. Long story short, I would travel 6 hours again to have Marty, Dan & Rick help me with any of my stereo needs! I was just going to have them uninstall a custom stereo from a Maserati I was turning in from lease. I had a local Indy sound shop install it for $5k, and the last 3 years I haven't been happy with the sound, so I was just going to have them uninstall the system and just install the sub in my new car with the factory speakers. As you can imagine I was really disappointed spending that much money and not being happy, so I was skeptical when Dan & Marty told me it should sound 10x better and something was wrong. After they started taking the system out it was obvious the prior shop had no idea how to properly install nor tune a nice system. So, after coming up with a really good install plan, they talked me into installing my complete old system + a bit ten with the promise it would sound amazing, which meant leaving my brand new car with them! I drove back to Indy in their shop car (really awesome they had a car for me so I didn't have to rent one) and several days later came back to pick it up. It took only 10 seconds of a song to realize not only did they keep their promise, but it sounded more amazing than I could have imagined! I couldn't believe it was the same components, sub, amp, etc. It was the best 3 hour drive home listening to this amazing stereo! They absolutely know what they are doing, don't cut corners, and deliver the best sound possible. The install, tuning, customer service, everything is top notch.
