I have had Don do upholstery work for me the past seven years which included reupholstering den furniture, reupholstering outdoor cushions, and making beautiful dinning room curtains. I have always been pleased with his work and his reasonable turn around time. However, I dropped off my outdoor cushions (the same ones he did seven years ago) on 3/7th. A young man told me they were slow and would have the cushions done in 3 to 4 weeks. I called the first week of April. Don said he had not even started them but promised them the following week. Every week in April I would call and get the same story-I promise they will be done next week. He told me he had workers out sick. The last week of April I called, again. I told Don I definitely needed them for Mother's Day-I was having family to the house for a BBQ. Don's exact words were-"I won't let you down". I called May 7th to pick up my outdoor cushions. Don said they were not ready-he hadn't even started them because (this time)he said he only had 19 yards of material and he needed 20 yards of material. I told him I had to pick up my unfinished cushions for the BBQ and I would drop them off again on Monday. I picked up my cushions and Don asked me if I wanted to see the material. I said no-that he would just come up with another excuse why they won't be done next week. Not once did Don call me to tell me about delays. If he had 19 yards of material, why didn't he do some of the cushions? He didn't even once apologize to me. Very, very, disappointed. Actually, I cried. I trusted him to "not let me down" but he did. I waited and waited and waited and trusted him. In the reviews, I see another person has recently had the same problem. I will no longer recommend Don to my Bedford neighbors or use him, again. After 2 months of waiting, I now know Don's "word" means...

I started the process in January-February timeframe inquiring about capability, availability, logistics, pricing, design, turnaround time ,etc (many email exchanges) . I was very excited that the upholstery shop said they can do the work requested; so made an appointment and in early March drop my furniture piece and materials I wanted to be incorporated. In my written PO and email I was given a time frame when it would be ready. So long story short of status follow ups... 2 weeks became, 4 weeks, and 4 weeks became 6 months later (again many email exchanges). The end result the work was never performed and one of my materials I supplied was lost or something, I know it was not returned back nor was offered funds to replaced the material they lost. Read moreDon Mavrikis is an incredibly kind and talented human being. It's so obvious that he loves what he does, and he's just simply the best at doing it! We had our antique couch reupholstered by him, and he did a phenomenal job--we couldn't be happier with the finished product. He went above and beyond and refinished the wood in spots that needed it badly, adjusted the feet for us to be more practical, and even did us a favor in reupholstering our piano bench to match the couch fabric. Pick up and drop off were done by his team and it made the process so incredibly easy. He also had endless fabric options and really worked with us to make sure we were 100% happy with the fabric choice (which we are!). Don is incredible--couldn't...
