I recently signed up for a Crunch fitness membership. As part of the membership they offer 1 free personal training session. After the personal training session and a sales pitch, I agreed to do the personal training. I signed a contract for 12 weeks with 1 personal training session a week at a rate of 45.00 a week. I was advised at the time I set up the contract that it is on auto renewal and I would need to come in and speak with a manger to cancel. Today I reach out to the facility to ask when the manager would be available. I was advised at 1:30pm today. I go to the gym at 1:25pm and ask for the personal training manager. The guy at the counter advised the manager was not there. I refreshed his memory that he and I spoke earlier and he told me the manager would be there at 1:30pm. He recalled the conversation and went and got the manager. She came out and spoke with me and attempt to tell me I needed to try the personal training for 3 months and then come back and cancel it if I donât like it. I ask her to show me in the contract where it states that and she was not able to do so. I want to reiterate that I was not trying to cancel my current contract. I was only trying to cancel the auto renewal that would automatically occur following my current contract. I was willing to ride out the current contractual agreement, but am not interested in future personal training with Crunch fitness beyond the current contract . The manager again tries to get me to come back closer to the end of the contract to cancel the auto renewal. I feel like the manager was trying to give me the run around and delay the cancelation hoping I would forget or they would tell me the manager is not available as they attempted to today. I told her I can see this is a very inconvenient process to cancel and I was not leaving without canceling the auto renewal today. Then I said if I have to pay the current contract in full today I will, but I want the auto renewal cancelled today. At that point she agreed to cancel. I paid the remainder of the current contract and cancelled the automatic renewal of any future contracts. I should not have had to paid my current contract in full to cancel the automatic renewal. No where in their contract does it state that. Iâm making this post so others are aware of the hassle it is to cancel a personal training auto renewal contract. This whole experience has left a bad impression and Iâm thinking about leaving the gym all together. When I verbalize this to the manager she said you would need to give a 30 day notice and pay the final month in advance as well to cancel the membership. BE AWARE OF THIS GYM ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO CONTRACTS. Also know that this gym is a franchise and not corporate owned. You will only be referred back to the gym...
Read moreHas everything you need to get a great workout but their trainers seem far more committed to making money than helping members achieve results.
When I signed up for the gym I received a free assessment where I understand that they are trying to sell you their services and I have no issues with that.
They benchmarked my body fat percentage when I first started training and I told them I wanted to see what I could do on my own and then check back in a month and be reassessed to determine whether or not I needed some help.
When I came back and retested I had made significant gains on my own and so they did not try to sell me services nor did I try to purchase any.
I did however want to continue to check my results periodically to track my fitness. When I came back to the fitness trainers a month later to check my fitness they outright refused to do so even after I offered compensation.
I went and visited with the location manager to discuss if there is an option where I could pay something fair to periodically have my body fat percentage checked on a monthly basis.
The trainers, one in particular was agitated that I was trying to create a win-win situation and didn't want any part of the conversation. The other entertained the conversation briefly and then the manager came back with a proposal where I would pay $45 for 10 times to have my body fat percentage checked or essentially $450.
If you've had the process done on a standing machine with grip sensors it takes about a minute. Five minutes total if they review the results with you in comparison to the most recent reading. Essentially they are trying to backend you into a training package, which is what I was trying to avoid if I didn't need one.
If a trainer is wanting to create a customer relationship it's all good but some individuals don't need a trainer and they still should have some interest in assisting those individuals for a reasonable fee.
Additionally, on some level you are a walking advertisement of your services and the ones that I was speaking with did not have a convincing sales pitch in...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars I would Worst cancellation process ever at priest lake serous donât go to this gym if you donât plan on fighting with staff every week to cancel your membership or plan on leaving with moving back home I was not able to go in to cancel my membership or send a letter do to travel no one at all seems to care even when you speak to the GM all the want is to give you a run around and keep charging you
After numerous phone calls stating that I was moving back home i finally was able to send the authorized mail out and then was asked to send a license or a utility bill in which the utility bill is not in my name and a license wonât be in for weeks, I had also talked to another gym about transferring the membership to help me cancel over the phone seemings this gym will not cancel their members over the phone. Which they were going to do and where happy to help with but Priest Lake Crunch never sent my transfer information over even when I called and asked them to send my transfer information over. During the procedure of trying to cancel, I had asked for my signed agreement term and contract that would state that they would need identification or a utility bill and when threatened legal action. They had cut ties with communication instead of just sending me my contract agreement they told me to just look it up in my email.. which it was never there or sent to me and now will not send me my contract to show me that I need to send identification or a utility bill. Just to add to this the letter is literally signed and stamped from a post office that is near my now home. Been trying to cancel for months now And Iâm extremely disappointed in the customer service and quality of customer care employees are treating member...
