This is the second time I've encountered the staff shutting down the store early. I try not to shop at stores right before closing, but sometimes that's not the way life works. The first time, I was there 10 min before closing with my son, and one of the employees (looked like a young manager) kept following me and staring at me, reminding me they were about to close. I was only swinging by for a quick one-product need, but with the pressure to leave, I just left. Then, last night, my wife and I were talking in the car about how nice it would be to grab some firewood on our way home, and when we pulled in 7 minutes before close to get a few packs, the door was locked and the staff tried to ignore me then just stared back at me blankly when I pointed at the hours on the door. I have had positive experiences at other Ace's like Tusculum and Hwy 100, but will never go back to this location. The odds are more and more likely that you won't have the very basic items that any well stocked hardware store should have. Walker is the go to supplier for 85% of our materials and supplies. Hopefully your grill business is carrying you. You have potential to be a truly great business again with the addition of key supplies missing from your shelves and perhaps a little more attention to tradesmen who service all of your great Belle Meade customers. I attempted to return a small dollar item while making a $50 purchase and the $6 item was over the 90 day return policy. I was unaware of the return policy and asked for a one time exception and the associate responded by telling me a policy was a policy and that they must honor it. They offered me no flexibility in returning the item, and were somewhat argumentative.
