Taneka was absolutely amazing and made my shopping experience so much more positive than I could have expected. As a plus size woman, I was very nervous about the wedding dress shopping experience and was afraid I would not find a dress that made me feel good about my body. Taneka listened to what I wanted, pulled dresses that complimented my shape, and I felt comfortable the entire appointment! I actually ended up loving so many dresses I am going to have to go back to make my final decision. I thought I was going to be limited in my choices but she showed me that there is a dress for me that will make me feel comfortable and beautiful! Taneka made this a positive experience that I will remember forever, and has made even more excited about marrying the man of my dreams because I can’t wait for him to see me in the most beautiful dress. While I don’t know which dress will ultimately be mine, I know that I am in good hands and that I can’t really make the wrong choice because everything she put me in was beyond beautiful! Also I appreciate that she understood that my first appointment was for me to just see what shapes and styles I like and she did not pressure me to buy that day. I will be scheduling a second appointment and I will be an Eleven Bridal Bride but it was great for her to acknowledge that this was an important decision and didn’t pressure me to make a decision when I wasn’t ready on my first appointment. It is not an exaggeration to say that my experience at Eleven Bridal and with Taneka was one of the best of my life.

Being a larger woman, I had all but given up on having the experience of trying on as many dresses as I wanted in an actual size that fit my body. At one shop, the owner had the audacity to tell me that dresses in the style I was dreaming about didn’t look good on bodies like mine. I had not allowed myself to dream about holding the “I said yes” sign because I had left too many shops feeling defeated and immense shame. I had resigned myself to an online purchase that would be good enough.

But not today! Today Taneka gave me the gift of a beautiful and dignified experience that told me so loudly that bodies that look like mine deserve to look beautiful on their wedding day (and everyday!).

Not only that - I had the whole shop to myself and her undivided attention. I didn’t have to worry about the person trying on dresses next to me, there was no comparison, just the privacy to thoroughly enjoy the experience and all the feelings that come with it.

Every part of this experience was purposeful and filled with such honor and dignity for those of us who are often not the target demographic.

All that’s to say - I cannot recommend this enough. I not only walked out with my dress, but I walked out with the reminder that all my curves deserve to be loved and deserve the dress of my dreams.

I cannot recommend Eleven Bridal enough! I went to a few other dress shops before going to Eleven Bridal, but I wish I'd gone here first! At other shops I was squeezed into sample sizes that were too small, or clipped into sizes that were way too large. Everyone told me I was just "supposed to know it was the one!" when I tried the right dress on, but it felt like that would never happen if I couldn't try dresses on in my size and had to "envision" everything differently on my body. When I walked into Eleven Bridal, Taneka just had the biggest smile on her face and was the sweetest person to work with! Taneka did such an amazing job listening to the details that I wanted (mermaid fit, satin fabric and lace details, a long train, etc).The fourth dress I tried on was THE ONE and not just because the size 18 fit like a glove! Aside from the beautiful veils she offered to "complete the look" Taneka also had optional sleeves that you could TRY ON in store to see with the dresses instead of just "envisioning" again. Taneka is a one woman boss lady, who felt like a friend I'd known for years by the end of my first appointment. She really went above and beyond in helping me find the right dress, make my vision come true, made recommendations to me for wedding Facebook groups, a list of tailors to work with, even made other inquiries for me.
