This was a terrible experience from beginning to end. We were here for my nephew's graduation, and our dinner here turned a lovely day into a stressful, frustrating evening. The service was horrendous, the manager was EXTREMELY rude, and so was the server. We had 17 people in our party, at three tables, and each table's order was taken separately (leaving to place each one in the computer before taking the next table's order) and served with their food 10 minutes apart. Then, they put all 17 people in our party on one ticket and told us to go to the front to pay. After the last table ate and paid (one line to checkout), they then accused us of not paying them for $7 worth of our aggregate meal, although none of us (at the third and last table to be served) had these extras (which they admitted), he proceeded to verbally assault us, exclaiming that it was unfair that people ate food they didn't pay for. We explained that we weren't at that table and couldn't be expected to know what each person at another table had, especially if the server who placed the order didn't know. Further, we asked for separate tickets and were denied, so we'd made every attempt to avoid such a situation. The manager's attitude, decorum, and overall people skills were reprehensible, and he should not manage a lemonade stand, much less a rrestaurant. I will NEVER visit this restaurant or any affiliated chain again. That's how bad it was. If you want to be treated with respect and like your money matters, I implore you not to patronize this place. I've traveled all over the world, and I've never been treated with such disdain, indifference, and...
Read moreThe first thing I need to say about this Mexican restaurant is… “Don’t dine there!”
The service was simply terrible with bland food. And we didn’t feel welcome.
On a suggestion from a friend, I decided to dine at El Sombrero’s on Nolensville Pike for my birthday. After waiting a good while, a weight-lifter waiter showed up to take our order. The problem was that he forgot all about us. We even had to ask for silverware.
The food itself was rather bland. Nothing close to the quality of Mexican meals I’ve enjoyed at other Nashville locations. There were no offers to replenish our chips and salsa, and the waiter served me the wrong drink. What a mess!
But the saddest part of the experience was the no care attitude of the waiting service when my friend mentioned that it was my birthday… not once but three times. Never was it acknowledged. I wasn’t even offered a dessert menu. I left rather sad to be honest.
So, my verdict here is a 1 out of 5, and the advice to avoid this restaurant.
By the way, Las Palmas went out of its way to celebrate my friend’s birthday last September. They sang him a tune, placed a sombrero on his head, and gave him complimentary ice cream.
As for returning to this particular restaurant… never. Adios to...
Read moreAt least I didn't get montezuma's revenge.. so here's what I experienced so hopefully you don't waste your time and money as well. First the staff wasn't overly nice, but that's no problem so long as they deliver the goods. So we placed our order, ane voila our two dinners arrived maybee two minutes later.. red flag.. only a microwave on high can cook that fast. Which leeds me to suspect that they prep dinners and cold store them and when ordered. Ding, it's done. Sure enough the plate was 400 degrees, second sign of a microwave dinner. I still wanted it to be good because I was so hungry. Well, my first bite was even lower than my low expectations. The rice is just awfull.. I mean really bad, it tastes like soggy dishwater. I had to take another small bite actually to make sure it really was as bad as my tongue said. Not ok. The burrito verde was not good, but at least I was able to eat it. It didn't take long however as it was rather small for a 10 dollar dish. Salsa tastes like pace picante. I think these jokers might just be microwaving wal mart preped food and giving it to stupid unsuspecting gringos.. save yourself the trouble and go somewhere with real food. Or just buy a hungry man...
