I was so excited to eat at this restaurant. Maybe too excited. My husband and I ate here on a Sunday and the atmosphere was very calm. If the restaurant was busy I do not think I would be comfortable, as it is a very small space and the tables were crowded on top of each other.
I made sure to not order sushi rolls containing the "*", as the menu stated these are the rolls containing raw fish. My husband ordered the 10 pc KFC "Korean Fried Chicken" with rice and vegetables. He was then advised that this dish is now $14.50 instead of $12, as stated on the menu we were ordering from.
We waited and waited, and waited and waited in this fairly empty restaurant. Finally, my sushi rolls arrive. To my surprise, my Killer Bee Roll had a pile of mashed raw tuna on top of it.
I ate some of my Mango Tango roll, which tasted good but the pieces were inconsist as far as sizing, so one piece would be too big to eat in one bite and one piece would be smaller than usual. If I was lucky enough to get a piece in my mouth without the roll unravelling and everything falling out onto my plate.
So, we waited 10-15 min longer for my husband's food to arrive. When his huge plate of fried chicken was placed on the table, I asked the waitress where the rice was. She told me it didn't come with rice and asked if I wanted to buy some. I advised her the menu stated the dish came with rice and she told me it didn't.
My husband looked at me, smiled, and said "don't". So I didn't...
When I bit into the chicken wing, all I tasted was fried batter covered in a sticky sweet syrup. I'm not sure where the Spicy part was. It was almost candy like. Once you get through the 3 inches of deep fried, candied batter, you get to the blandest chicken I've ever tasted. The chicken meat tasted like it was boiled in water ( with no salt or spices ). No flavor to the chicken meat whatsoever. They weren't even juicy.
I have only had "KFC" one other time and it was at a restaurant in Chicago. I have been craving more since that day. That is why I was so excited to try this restaurant when I saw the menu. My search continues...
I have screenshots from the menu showing where the "KFC" should have included rice and vegetables, and showing the Killer Bee Roll did not contain the "*" disclaimer for raw fish.
The server(s) should learn the menu before arguing with the customer. Or, the restaurant should put out a new menu with the new pricing and corrections with what dishes...
Read moreFour of us sat on the patio last night.
Two of us ordered two of their hyped infused vodkas. A long while passed before the drinks were actually delivered, probably about 20 minutes. We saw the waiter only once during that time and his explanation was that they were still being made.
We then ordered our food, each of us getting an appetizer and an entree. All of it was delivered in segments, scattered throughout over an HOUR.
One of the guests of the party asked for no cucumbers in one of her sushi rolls. The waiter sets down the plate and then realizes it has cucumbers in it when that should've been noticed when he first picked up the plate from the window.
The best part is I NEVER received my entree, the chicken Pad Thai. Everyone was finished (at different times) with their food and it'd had been over an hour without mine being delivered.
Since our waiter was so absent and oblivious, I had to get up and tell the HOSTESS to go in the kitchen and cancel my order. She was apologetic and pleasant, but her explanation of the night was they had "10 tables all walk in at once."
First of all, if a restaurant can't handle a 10-table rush on a Friday night (and they were by no means at max capacity), that's a problem. Absolutely a situation like that should add stress but by no means invite Armageddon.
Second, that still doesn't justify our food being delivered at different times over the period of an hour and a half with little-to-no check ups from the waiter. They picked and chose what dishes to make out of all the customers waiting and some dishes (mine) got on the bottom of the priority list or didn't even get rang in at all.
Then I heard the owner was actually bartending, which relative to the chaotic restaurant/kitchen, is a stationary position with not much control or ownership of anything. Weird.
It seems like most of the recent reviews are very polar. Either a great experience or a terrible one. So there's a big consistency issue in this restaurant and it appears that customers are in control during "busy" times.
So...
Read moreI’ve been coming here since high school and my recent visit was by far the worst. The owner never seems to care for our table everytime we come in which I can get by. This time I had a roach in my rice and i simply told her, i’m not eating this neither is my friend. She proceeded to take it away without apologizing, then at the very end charged me full price for my meal (the rice was included in mine) and took off the rice on my friends which she asked for. Even if she gave me a discount i would’ve been satisfied. I’m a manager at a restaurant myself and i was by far shocked at how she didn’t even try to apologize till the very end when it came to giving a tip. I feel tipping is earned and not given especially as a server I understand it can be frustrating when someone doesn’t tip you even though you thought you had good service. I proceeded to not tip for the simple fact i was paying full price for something that wasn’t my mistake and how she handled it. I’ve seen her also yell at her servers from across the restaurant which is also extremely discomforting. I proceeded to call back mentioning how I wanted a refund and I got thee most snarky and nasty response. She told me “Yes I remember you (my name) you didn’t tip. I’ll give you a refund” and hung up without again apologizing. She also tried downplaying it by saying “I’m pretty sure it was a fly”. Even if it was a fly it was still a bug, we are still in a pandemic I can probably get sick off of that. She maybe nice to you at first to your face but she is a very evil spirited woman. Wouldn’t recommend coming. (btw if this gets deleted I will continue...
