I’m visiting Nashville from out of town for a work event that was on April 23rd at 10:00 . I had someone sideswipe my car in a parking lot the morning of April 23rd around 9:00. I tried calling a non emergency line and got a busy signal so I called 911. The lady I spoke with from 911 was very helpful and considerate. After a little over an hour of waiting and not hearing anything I found and called the non emergency line and the lady I spoke with was not helpful at all couldn’t tell me a time and basically made it seem like my issue wasn’t important because it’s not a life threatening emergency. I waited another hour without anyone coming to the location or hearing from anyone. Called again and the guy I spoke with told me that if I was in a private parking lot that they may not be able to do anything because they don’t do that. And that if I was planning to leave maybe I should put my information on the car that hit me. The car that hit me left no information on my car no note nothing. But I should leave mine that really makes a lot of sense. Also couldn’t tell me a time to expect anyone but that he saw the call. About another hour went by and I searched and I ended up calling berry hill police department because it was close by. They came in 10 minutes after my call and were more help than any of the other people I spoke with and wrote up a report and took care of me so from 9:00-12:00 I was waiting and still had no one come help me. To make it even worse if it could be at 2:00 I got a call from you guys asking if the owner of the other car ever came out and if I got it taken care of? Seriously? If you actually need help I wouldn’t even waste your time with the Metro Nashville Department of Emergency Communications you will be better figuring something out on your own. Awful awful awful service, they should be ashamed and...
Read moreI have never in my life dealt with such a lack of generalized caring for society. A car barreled into our Parked truck at the Comfort Inn (right up the way from this dept.). It involved a total of 5 cars and the person at fault literally walked away. It took 2 calls to the dept. And 2 calls to 911 for no one to ever show up from this dept. bc the accident was on private property. Yet the person at fault came off of a legitimate road. They made no attempt to come and help or check on anyone or to find the person at fault. Not one mention of looking for the person. It took my husband and 3 other men waving down an off duty officer to get anyone to stop. He did...Wish I knew his name. Red headed and kind and Very helpful. He took a report (so we all didn't have to file separately online like they told us to do when we called. When I initially called the woman (and I Pray her bosses see this review and she is dealt with appropriately) was lacking empathy and was down right rude. Zero help and the b word to boot. I am in town for a special needs child hospital appt and I wasn't even in my vehicle when this occurred. I would think that in her professional capacity she could muster up some form of respect for those calling a place that is set up to protect and serve. To the one helpful officer, you know who you are and Thank You for YOUR service. For the lady that took my phone call, we'll I'll keep...
Read moreFirst and foremost when I called 911 I was told that they would try to send someone out when I said I was terrified. I called at 11:34pm and nobody was sent out until 12:38am. Two police officers rode right past me, but we're not coming to my location. I was unsatisfied that no fingerprints were taken for this problem because you said that you could not and I feel like that is a stupid reason because if somebody breaks into a car, you should be able to take fingerprints to figure out who the person is. The officer that you sent out was acting very clueless like he didn't know what happened like he was on some type of substance. Also, I made a phone call first and then 30 minutes later my friend made a phone call and when she made that phone call, the dispatch was very rude and also when I receive a call back from a young woman saying that we should return to location she was very rude on the phone as well and I'm very unsatisfied with this service. I am very upset about how this played out. It was very horrible experience with the police department. It makes me feel unsafe because I called and said I was terrified and you guys took an hour. I could've died in an hour. The person could have come back and shot us. The person could've come back and took us or came back...
