A Must-Visit Stop on Your Nashville Trip!

This is a small gallery museum. If you are already in the area stop in. It is more of an exhibit in my opinion and pricey at 4.00 for what you get... ( minus a star for overall value ). For guitars buffs, that may be a completely different story. There was no tour when we were there, which we heard later makes the musical history come to life. The security buzzers were annoying. I could not get close enough to read the exhibits without the beepers sounding... (minus another star). Perhaps someone could adjust the sensitivity on the system or make larger type for seniors to read the exhibited self guided tour. There is musical guitar history and mural art in the surrounding Nashville areas which we absolutely loved and most of it was free if you were willing to walk. Given that balance, I did not feel all was lost in giving to the University's Iconic Musical beginnings.

I was sitting at a shuttle stop across from the library when I saw a small sign mentioning The Gig. Decided to catch the next shuttle and check it out. It is small but a feast for the eyes. The selection and variety is impressive. And they have guitars on stands you can play so I did a small jam with a young guy way better than me. This is a personal collection, not famous players guitars. I highly recommend stopping here and feel the $8 entry fee was worth it. The lady who checked me in, graduate student in business, was very friendly and made me feel welcome.

Located on the grounds of Belmont University and within the Lila D. Bunch Library is the Gallery of Iconic Guitars, so it's not a self standing building but a space within the library. Now, I'm not a huge fan but if you are in-store for a treat as you will enjoy this well designed space that showcase the collection of guitars. The displays and layout are well thought out and they also have an attendant to answer any questions you may have.

Most delightful is that The Gallery is free and you can probably see it all in 15/30 easily. But again, no cost.

TIP: Right next to the Gallery of Iconic Guitars is the Leu Art Gallery (FREE also) it's small but only a few steps away, you...
