New pool schedule, makes for a more crowded pool. The best time to go if you want to swim in a lane is probably after 4pm . due the slashed pool schedule it is open at Monday and Wednesday from 1pm .-8:30pm.all of the morning swimmers now come at 1 pm.and the afternoon swimmers also at 1pm. So it's really crowded with swimmers from other YMCAs., and also slate belts pool, and seniors with joint issues using the pool because of the low impact I really feel for the disabled person in wind Gap now that can't get in the pool now do to members from other ys comming and swimming in the special lane for disability being closed Friday and Saturday really throws everyone's schedule in disarray Stroudsburg YMCA might be better now and that's really scraping the bottom of the barrel .and it's 90°outside I don't understand their logic. How are they going to give swimming lessons when the pool is closed.the lifeguard shortage was an excuse to cut the pool down.now.the y is now Part of river crossing in buck's county, suppose to be non for profit, I wonder.and I get e mails about all the programs that they have, but they have no money to open one of the pools on Friday ,They expect us to go All over the place to find a pool in another Y that's miles away from home and burn gas and the time it takes to get there and some are in not so good neighborhoods. Swimmers could go to slate belt on Friday would be better traffic wise now that the summer tourist season is starting, allot of traffic on Friday now to go down there, easy for them to say. I get emails asking for donations to send a kid to camp why don't they do that for the pool.i don't see them cutting any of the other programs, matter of fact every time I walk in I see more signs for programs, they just have a thing for the pool I...
Read moreHelpful staff! Clean amenities. I love this YMCA, also because of the clientele who go here. They are very friendly and respectful. The child care facility is so nice and the caretakers are so friendly, my daughter loves going there while I work out. The only small issue I had was when me and my daughter were in the pool after my workout. A swimming class started and the looks we got from the senior ladies was basically like they didnt want a kid in the pool during their class. My daughter is very friendly and not one would say hello back to her or even a smile. I guess to make us feel like we should leave. I asked the lifeguard and he said we can stay, it's a big pool and that's a very small class. We did move to the deep end so not to bother them but I could tell they weren't happy. If we weren't supposed to be there during classes, I'm sure they would close the pool. It's great excersice for toddlers and I dont see why her excersice would be less important. Obviously this does not reflect on the staff or most of the people that go here. It's just something to mention in case you dont want to put your child and yourself in an awkward situation, I would keep an eye on the pool...
Read moreMy wife and I have been going here for years (6 +) and we both have a busy summer coming up. So we decided to cancel our membership for the summer. We called a couple of times but we're told we would need to come in and fill out a form, how convenient. So I did made a special trip on my way home to fill out said form. A full week before the auto withdraw was scheduled. Highlighted in yellow on the form was a warning saying 10 to 15 days notice to cancel without paying for the upcoming month. Really 10 days that's ridiculous. What could possibly take so long. I figured they would probably take care of it before the next Auto withdraw. Nope. Apparently a week just isn't enough time. Great customer service. It's not a lot of money but there is no reason for it to take so long or to be so difficult. Might not be joining...
