I chose this place to celebrate my birthday with my family. Never having been there, my choice was made largely upon the website, public reviews, & my love for trying new breweries. The website had a link to make reservations, but the link was broken & redirects you to their homepage. Given that our party was a group of 8, my wife tried calling several times over several days to see if we needed reservations. No one ever answered the phone. So, we rolled the dice & arrived on Saturday March 8th at 5:30 pm. I immediately noticed kids yelling & running around. Despite that, they didn't seem busy & they seated us with ease in the side room where the pinball machines & the shuffleboard is. In there, the place was literally overrun with kids, running back & forth, shaking the likely 250+ year old wood floors, yelling & screaming, throwing the shuffleboard pucks around. I'm fine with family friendly, but this was way beyond & terribly inappropriate. I instantly felt like I was having dinner at a daycare. Shame on the parents for allowing it. Shame on the brewery for tolerating it. Service was incredibly slow. We ordered drinks, flights, appetizers to be brought out before the meal, & the meals themselves. Drinks came out slowly, a few at a time. Appetizers finally began to arrive around 6:45 pm. The meals started to arrive just before 7:00 pm, an hour & a half after we arrived, & while we were still working on our appetizers. The table behind us however, who arrived after us, had already had their meals. Eventually, our entire table was served with the exception of my meal. I waited another few minutes, trying to be patient. My daughter's DoughDilla was burned, and her friend's DoughDilla was way under done (see photo). It was nearly raw inside. My son's burger was served cold. Finally I got up & walked to the other side where the bar is to check where my food was & express the other issues, because no one was coming back to the table to check on us. Our server & the manager were both there. Turns out they couldn't find my order & it was never made. So they made it to-go, without even asking me if that's what I wanted, & put a rush on it. They served it to me at the table IN A BOX. Their excuses were as follows. 1. The entire kitchen staff is brand new as of this week. 2. They didn't expect to be that busy on a Saturday night. 3. The brewery manager was only on the job for a little more than a week. None of these excuses were acceptable & just made me wonder why the owner wasn't onsite to oversee things, given such a large amount of their staff was clearly not fully trained or capable. I'll give credit where it's due. Both our server & manager were VERY apologetic. The manager did discount most of our meals, although she did say she would discount everyone's meals, as we paid separately. I had a polite, but frank conversation with the server on the way out & told him that while I don't know his job in the least, I would expect him to know if someone at the table was missing their meal & also for them to check on their guests periodically. I did empathize with him, because the place was considerably busier at 8:30 pm than when we had arrived 3 hours before. We did tip based upon what the bill would have been, which was more than the service deserved. Despite all this, I enjoyed the flight. I might return for take-out beer, but it would take a lot to get me back in the door for food service. When I go to a brewery, the last thing I want are a bunch of wild kids running around like Romper Room, nor do I want to wait 2.5 hours for food that wasn't made right or not made at all. Perhaps the owners will see this and try to make it right. I remember saying to my family "This place needs Jon Taffer" to come in &...

We have been to Birthright at least a dozen times and at first it was great. The last few times it felt like it was slowly getting less desirable to go, but the last time we went put a rather bad note on the place unfortunately. Our party of 5 went during trivia night, which we all love to do, and have enjoyed the one hosted at Birthright. This time it wasn't as packed as it has in the past. Unfortunately it still took over 15mins to get a drink where we were sitting. Again it has been way busier before and were approached almost immediately all those other times. We didn't pay to much mind at first, but when we started asking for the next round, our server would only listen to one or two orders and abruptly leave before the rest of us could put in an order, in which when she would return we would be asking for more drinks. This lead to not once, but twice, the server rolling her eyes because of this, and when leaving shaking her head like we were doing this on purpose. On top of that we had ordered the cheessteak dip, which was cold when we got it, over priced and under seasoned. Not worth the 14 dollars, and the pizza my brother ordered was missing half the ingredients. It's unfortunate how the night went, as for the most part we have enjoyed our time here, but the last few times have been a little less desirable and quite frankly this last experience has made us question if we want to even give it another shot. I have no clue if there have been ownership changes or new management, but the atmosphere doesn't quite feel...

They're undergoing a change in management and so until they get that completed, inquire of your server exactly what they can cannot do. For instance, they grill their wraps, which I was not expecting and did not like, but it wasn't on the menu with that description. Another example: they still have panini on the menu but they don't make panini they make sandwiches on bread. So that's a warning to be clear when you're ordering and I assume that those things will stop being an issue in a month or two. Their website is not accurate because of the above but the only menu you can get right now which is March 13th. 2023 is online through a code and it's inaccurate. I got a flight of beer liked some of them. Wasn't fond of the others but then I had a fascinating experience. The beers that I did not care for tasted completely different after I was chasing food with them. That completely changed their flavor to me, which is an experience I'd never had before. So if you come across a beer and a flight that you don't like have the Brussels sprouts or some french fries or something to change your palette and then see how you feel about the beer. I would have given three out of five beers being okay, but after I paired them with food I'd give five out of five beers being okay. So for what that's worth and enjoy the place. The staff was wonderful. It's clean and the food is...

I wish I could have given a 4.5 I rarely give 5 but this was close. I'll save the beer for last. Atmosphere was cool. Walk by the loads of woods for wood fired pizza (smelled great). Walk past old donkey Kong and pac man games into a room with many pinball machines. We sat next to an old pay phone. Service was great. Very attentive and helpful. Food. We were in the mood for just munchies. Got the cheese steak fries. Hit the spot. Nothing gourmet but man they were tasty and filling. We also got the pierogi's because.... pierogi's. The jalapeno/cheddar had just enough spice without killing you. Fiance had a raspberry cocktail which was outstanding. Now the beer. On the normal beers they hit what it should be (one of the better actual pilsners I've had, and the stout was spot on). On the funky beers, it was either love or hate. I definitely recommend samplers even if you are doing a flight. Marshmallow IPA was a HELL NO. Yet the Grape Oh Yeah was THE BEST grape beer I have had (have tried quite a few). On the way out they canned me a 4 pack of the grape and we picked up a couple bottles of their hard lemonade for at home. Those were delicious as well. Not pure sugar like many hard lemonade. Was like actual normal lemonade which was great.

Scratch kitchen was definitely the highlight here. Had the jalapeño poppers and a caprese chicken sandwich which was part of the weekly specials. Poppers were excellent. Sandwich was very good, tender, juicy, chicken. Wish the breading was more crispy. Was hoping the kettle chips were also scratch. Unfortunately, they were Martin's bagged. Had a flight of beer, mostly IPAs, plus Belgian strong dark and a Czech pilsner, which were all good to very good. Recommended, especially if you're hungry. Side note. Appears to be street parking only and although it indicates handicap accessible, there is a single step at the main entrance and unless there is a back entrance through the building away from the parking, not sure there is a ramp.
