Hi this review is to allow residents of Las Vegas, to be aware of the fact that the The Las Vegas National Course , located on Desert Inn near the Boulevard Mall, knowing allows a pack of wild coyotes, to Inhabit the premises, and has for several years. We have young children and elderly people , ourselves, along with many pets, that live on and around this golf course. This is a densely populated area in the heart of the City. On June15th , 2019 a wild coyote, jumped into a family's backyard and killed two of their pets. I am extremely angry about the situation !!!! This is a situation that could have been avoided. I will not stop until those wild coyotes are gone. You will find nothing online or any signs in the area posted of the dangers of wild animals in area. The golf course the city of Las Vegas should care enough about the people that live in and around the area to allow us to be aware of the wild coyotes living free, running loose, just over our back fence. These are the first fatal wild coyote attacks, that I am aware of. It did not have to come to this. I feel as if it's the duty of the Las Vegas National Golf Course along with the city of Las Vegas to step up to the plate and be responsible for the dangers that are on there golf course and in our city. These wild coyotes are capable of killing our pets, (and have), our children, the elderly, along with ourselves. Wild Animals should not be allowed near our families. Expecally if we are not Aware that they are there. What are we waiting for? Next ... These wild animals are going to kill one of our children. We are in danger!!!! I called the course today. I spoke with a manager. "They're aware that the wild coyotes live there!." The city of Las Vegas is aware of wild animals residing in city limits. Something is wrong with that why is nothing being done? These wild coyotes are a danger to our society! Is the city of Las Vegas not concerned for our safety. I asked the manager at the golf course why do they allow the coyotes to live there. Along has with has anyone ever tried or attempted to run them off?His answer was ...it will cost a lot of money. I know the last time I know the last time I checked on the price of bullets they weren't all that much money. Wild animals running loose in our city with access to our young children, ABSURD!!!!!! There are no signs at or on or around the golf course stating the existence and dangers of wild coyotes residing in area. Why don't we just go ahead and let our children play in waters infested with alligators. Same thing correct??? Now, I don't believe for one second, that any amount of money would be... money poorly spent when it comes to the life of a family member, much less our pets. I will get to the bottom of this. This it's my first step and I will take several more to get these wild animals the heck away from my family my neighbors my society and all...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāll be honest. Weāre a bit biased in this review. National has a special place in our hearts. This course is a blast to play. We donāt have a ton of courses in Vegas that are like National. Itās very traditional and is one of the few walkable courses in the valley.
The layout is excellent and challenging, even at 6800 yards for the tips. National used to be one of the host courses for the Las Vegas Invitational and was part of the rotation when Tiger Woods earned his first PGA Tour victory in 1996.
Lately, the course has been in great shape and playing very well. The greens, although a little slower than Weād like, roll true, and the newer sand in the bunkers makes them some of the better ones in town.
The Las Vegas Golf Hall of Fame is also in the clubhouse. Itās an iconic course with tons of history. There are several markers along the course describing some of the historical places as you make your way around. Be sure to read them; thereās some cool history for sure.
The Natty, as we call it, doesnāt get a ton of press cause itās not one of the high-end Vegas Desert golf courses, but if you want a good challenge at an iconic venue, be sure to check it out. And the turn dogs are...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCalled in for my tee time on my way up from Phoenix - good friend moved to Vegas and had tix for the Knights game on Wed - so as a treat back thought we could tee it up on Thursday morning. I drove so my friend didn't have his wallet - lives there, has a business in Vegas - but no budging on the Clarke County rare - offers his business card and website... so we started out on a bad foot... On 7 we ran into a 5-some - - ranger said they would let us play thru at 9 (we were a two-some) they were so slow we ended up skipping nine after we watched 13 shots and they still were not out of range for tee shots. Discovered one of their players didn't show so instead of two 3somes they played 5. They were clearly regulars. At the turn there was no fresh food - only sandwiches in the fridge from the day before.. Course was in great shape - greens were rolling really nice - the history on the signs about the homes was fascinating Bag room staff was the only highlight - very welcoming and pleasent. Shooting a note to the GM to see if this is the expirence your supposed to have at Las...
