Meadows Eye Physicians & Surgeons — Local services in Winchester

We moved to the Las Vegas area shortly after having retina detachment surgery in Miami. Trying to find a followup Doctor when you move into a new area can be difficult.

We contacted the Meadows folks and after some discussion, we had an appointment with Dr. Calvo. We provided the surgery details to Dr. Calvo and he performed the follow-up and reassured us that everything looked good. We setup a followup appointment and followed his instructions.

We went for our follow-up today and Dr. Calvo advised the eye looked good and released us from travel restrictions and setup our next followup appointment. He also recommended we see one of his partners concerning future cataract issues. His office setup that appointment also.

Having a Doctor that explains things in simple terms that we can understand is huge for us. And having one that takes care of our current needs with an eye (no pun intended) toward future issues is exactly what we need. And his office Staff is great!

We started off looking for a Doctor to perform a followup and ended up with a Team to address our future optical needs. It doesn't get much better than that.

Dr. Calvo exhibits a level of confidence & dedication that’s deeply reassuring. The care I received from Dr. Calvo was exceptional. He welcomed both my husband & myself with eye contact & a hardy handshake. He answered all our questions in understandable terms, which helped make a complex & frightening situation much more manageable. Dr. Calvo surgically treated my detached retina (macula-off) with a scleral buckle & oil bubble. Altho any recovered vision will be less than optimal, we believe that because of Dr. Calvo’s extensive knowledge & expertise, my eyes are in the very best of hands - it’s Dr. Charles Calvo to the rescue!

Staff: The entire team, from the front desk to the technicians, displayed a high level of professionalism & made both my husband & myself feel comfortable throughout my exams & testing.

My only complaint: There is no direct way to reach Dr. Calvo. I definitely want ONLY Dr. Charles Calvo to examine, evaluate, & treat my eyes, but I don’t know how to...

Dr Calvo and his staff are excellent. He first started treating me for an eye problem I had about 3 years ago at the VA hospital for 6 months or so. I then was assigned another Dr and he was OK, but nowhere near as good as Dr Calvo so I jumped at the chance to see him again. Dr Calvo’s “bedside” manner is excellent and he always gives me good detail on what is going on and explains it to me in ways I can understand. He is always friendly and cordial and I never feel like I am just a number to him, but that he really has an interest in my well being.
