What is going on at the Krogers on Charlestown Road in New Albany? I drive 17 miles one way to shop at this Kroger because it is the best grocery store around, but today OMG! I am very disappointed and frustrated with my shopping experience. I usually shop early morning to beat the crowd and time it so I arrive at check out after 7:30am when the first cashier's lane opens. This morning, January 17th I went to check out around 8:20am, there was a double line of customers at self check out. The gal that is USUALLY at the first cashier's lane was standing at self check out watching customers. The line was growing...I was 3rd in line...two other customers behind me left full bascarts out of sheer frustration. When customers needed assistance at self check out the cashier went as slow as possible and drug out the longest explination for whatever assistance she was giving...added to customer irritation. During my 10 MINUTES in line I watched 1 kroger staff person pace back and forth looking at the floor in front of the customer service desk...never offered to help anyone...he was there doing nothing the entire time I was at self checkout. Another seasoned Kroger worker sweep around the floral display while glancing over at the growing line...never offered any help. I watched a different Kroger worker walk through the self check out area...never offered to help. I watched the produce guy watching the customer line grow and never helped. And yet another Kroger staff person walk through the area..no assistance offered. The icining on the cake, the gal who was suppose to be helping the self serve customers never once told me a scanning lane had opened...she just let me and others wait stuipidly. The customer ahead of me eventually said the scanner was open. Other days this particular cashier gets customers through her check out line quickly. She could have cashed all customers out in the 15 MINUTES it took me to scan and bag my own FULL CART of groceries! The manger was called to the service desk and chewed out by a different customer...I seen no reason to vent on the manager, ruining that person's day too...posting publicly gets better results from Kroger. One last thing, the parking lot still has snowy ice in parking spaces...including the driver side of the handicap space directly across from the main entrance. I have attached a pic...my driver's side is on the right of the picture...my passenger side was worse which was also the driver's side for handicap parking. Bad...
Read moreThe ONLY REASON i give 2 stars is this is a super convenient location for me. The emoloyees here need some training on customer service. They are super rude just about every time i have a question or if something rings up different than the sign. Today i missed the part that said "when you buy 5 its $1.00 off. I told the cashier it said $1.49 and is ringing up $2.00 first she said "dont you have a phone? You need the digital coupon " i said "I dont think thats true it didnt have the thing i scan for that". She went and got the sale add and i was correct. She then went to the item and read the sign and came back saying "it says when you buy 5 which means you have to buy 5 or more to get that price in case you didn't understand that part " took everything in me not to cuss the lady out!! I work with high school age kids who give excellent customer service at all times . The rude cashier here is old enough to be my mother.(in her 60s) Old enough to know better. And should not be allowed to work with customers 💯!! If you are rude to the people who come to shop they will look for other places to shop. If you have no customers you have no job. In case you didn't understand that. Smh also heaven help you if you visit this location after dark and before close and want to use a cart. They will literally block every isle with their stock to where you can't take a cart down the lane. They don't even move so you can get stuff off the shelf. Maybe you should close earlier since you make it impossible to shop the last couple business hours. Management here has some serious work to do because this is hands down the worst kroger in the area. Unfortunately it's the closest to my home so I will have to go a little further to buy what I need...
Read moreThe experience I had at this store with Luke the manager is unmatched. My pick up order was messed up and pushed backn2 hours on Monday night. They subbed items I didn't want subbed, gave me wrong items I wanted subbed (there is an option for exact replacements), and charged me for out of stock items.
Next day I spoke to Robert who told me to come to the store and get the items I needed. So after work around 6 (I am sick too), I went to the store and told them what I was told. Luke insisted that Robert wasn't a real manager, then kept asking me to see mt receipt like I was lying, that there was a glitch in the app, that Robert and I were confused and didn't understand what happened, or that I didn't know how to use the app. He insisted thar I rebuy the items and call a number he claimed was corporate (which was an 800 number) to get my money back. He also inferred thar other items I was trying to buy I wanted for free. I explained to him which items were the replacements for my order and which items were additional thar I was there to buy. That has NEVER happened to me at the Kroger on State St. I ended up going to State St to buy my items and they gave me a different number to call that is corporate.
I called corporate twice this morning and was hung up on both times. I am not sure how I am supposed to get my money back. This insane and I will NEVER go to that store again. And no this is not some Karen complaint. I don't complain but Luke was just that rude and was not offer any...
