Gruene With Envy — Local services in New Braunfels

This past weekend I was part of a Bachelorette party and our first stop was at this boutique...the visit to this boutique did not last long due to the way we were treated the second we walked in the door. A very lovely younger woman greeted us with a smiling face and proceeded to give us the layout of the store. She was rudely interrupted by who I would assume is the manager/owner of the boutique?...this woman proceeded to say "They're a Bachelorette party, they're not here to buy anything!" Even after this we continued to look around the store and I myself was interested in a cute pair of earrings, while my friends were also looking to purchase a few clothing items. The longer we stayed in the store the worse it got. The woman/manager proceeded to follow us around the store to watch us as if we were going to steal something. We could overhear her complaining and expressing her dissatisfaction with the market being slow and her not getting sales. Honestly, this would not be the way to act if you are trying to get people to purchase anything. As well as, I'm pretty sure Bachelorette parties are a perfect opportunity for you to sell things because I was ready to do a little shopping this weekend. She sure did ruin the experience for all of us, Gruene area is a very tourist part of town and that is not a way to make sales. I will never be stepping foot in this boutique again, and I will be sure to let anyone I know who lives in the area the service we received and to...

I waited in their parking lot for a few minutes on Saturday, August 26th. They didn’t open until 10:00, so I didn’t mind waiting. As I got out of my car, the rude sales associate that opened the store that day asked me (as I was walking toward Gruene With Envy), “You are shopping with us right? Because if not I’m going to have to tell you to Move.” When i told her that was very rude and that I would not be shopping there anymore, she stated, “Wait, are you serious?” Not even a good morning, let me get the door for you, we are so happy you’re shopping with us… nothing! Just a rude, snarky remark! Clearly I was shopping with them as I was I. Their parking lot AND walking toward their store. I try to shop local, but rudeness turns me away. Hopefully the owners can make this right and gain my business as I shop here...

I recently went with a group of women for a bachelorette party and the older lady in the shop was incredibly rude. I felt like it was a Pretty Woman movie moment. She followed us around as though we were going to try and steal something. She told us we couldn’t afford what was in the shop and we should shop in the discount section. She made a lot of accusations about myself and the group I did not appreciate. She missed out on business because we were very interested, and I will never go there again. The younger woman who was there was incredibly sweet but was cut off by the older woman who again made a lot of accusations. This is 2021! That small mindset...
