This was by far the WORST Kohl's experience I have ever had. While looking at jewelry and being helped by the jewelry sales person I was being stalked by the shift manager. Now imagine this, I was I half of my LEO uniform while shopping and I actually never really touched anything so why would she have been watching me?!? I mean I know that thief's come in all shapes and sizes and all but I was doing absolutely nothing that would be considered suspicious besides standing at the jewelry counter. The associate tried to show me the ring that I was going to purchase but was never able to actually hold it in my hands because she had the manager in her ear (walkie talkie) telling her to put the jewelry holder back into the case and secure it. Once I decided to purchase the ring and earrings that the associate was "showing me" she asked me to step around to the key pad so I did. As I came around the counter I had to stand at the doors to the jewelry counter to be at the pad that the associate asked me to use and very quickly her manager spoke to her through the walkie talkie and I was asked to move... Well... Over $400 later in cash, I proceeded to the men's and boys dept to continue to shop but quickly noticed that I had a shopping partner in tow... This same manager managed to be in my vicinity no matter where in the store I was. I made it known to several associates within the store that I didn't appreciate this manager following me and making me uncomfortable and also made it known that I was a Law Enforcement Professional but it didn't seem to help. ASM Silvia still pursued me. If I didn't need to shop today, I would have left and I surely would have returned the jewelry that I just purchased. This will be the last time I shop in the New Braunfels Kohl's. They don't have a great selection and their ASM needs to learn to be a little more inconspicuous when watching her paying customers. If she'd like, I'd be glad to train her on what to and what NOT...
Read moreLet me begin by saying I have just recently within the last 3 months started shopping at Kohlâs and have become a Kohlâs member. I have been very fond of this location due to its sales, variety of clothing/shoes, and because of how easy it is to get in and out when doing an Amazon return. Not to mention you get a coupon for a percentage off when you use Kohls to return an Amazon item.
Unfortunately today I had an unpleasant experience that I thought I would share that could potentially be an issue for other shoppers and for them to be aware of if they choose to shop at this location. There were 3 cashiers at the front helping customers when we got in line to check out. A problem arose with a younger cashier and one of the older cashiers began helping her and stopped taking customers. We werenât really sure what was going on because nothing was communicated to the growing line of people waiting to be helped. At this point only one cashier was checking out customers. While we were waiting the younger cashier pulls out her phone and begins to play on it as if no one else was around. We waited for a while and the woman standing in front of us became impatient and asked if the cashiers could call someone else up to help us. The older woman cashier assisting the younger one responded âwell if we had someone to call up here we wouldâ then proceeded to turn around and call someone on her radio to come help assist the check out area. Another woman from another department came to help as soon as she was called. Why would you tell customers you donât have any help, when in fact you do! Why not just call for help when you see a line of people waiting and you know you will be a minute before you can get to us?
Not a singe sense of urgency to help customers was apparent during our visit til the woman in front of us said something. Also acknowledging the customers and letting us know whatâs going on or letting us know that you will be right with us will...
Read moreThe Amazon return station is always pretty stellar. Five stars for that. What Iâm dumbfounded about is their lack of customer service. I worked in retail for 7 years and I expect the same service I provided: attentive, friendly, and helpful. I walked into the purse/jewelry section and two ladies were discussing how they were going to rearrange the floor for the new year. I was looking at multiple products and (to me) thought it was pretty clear that I was seeking the price or more info for these items since they were in a pile of junk that looked like a tornado had gone through it. Neither of them greeted me, asked if I needed help finding anything, or acknowledged my presence. I asked them for a price check and they gave it to me, but then immediately took the items I had handed them and started discussed where they would put THOSE items with the rearrangement of the floor.
Look, Iâm not a Karen and I donât expect to be waited on hand and foot. But I have worked retail and am a millennial and know the importance of greeting customers, asking how theyâre doing, and offering help. Why do they think people donât shop in their stores anymore? Itâs because theyâre a disaster to look at (looking more like ROSS every day) AND there is so little customer service. Why would I bother...
