I'm a veteran from thr US Army and was in the VA hospital in East Orange. I needed a place to live that provided physical therapy. The va social worker talked to admissions here gave them my insurance information and admissions my insurance will cover my room and board and physical therapy. A week and a half at Rose Mountain they said I had to leave cause my insurance said it wouldn't cover any more physical therapy and my insurance would only ly cover the room and board if the therapy was coveted. I went to admissions and they said it wasn't their job to check my insurance it was my job to do it. I have no family alive to help me so I had to spend thousands of dollars of my personal savings to pay to be here every 2 weeks. The building is ancient water is coming through the roof when it rains. Equipment doesn't work, the therapy department is extremely small, they barely have any activities to do. Every department has the lowest budget to try to get that department functions done. The paperwork they received was imaged into their computer was so small they couldn't read it so I had no medicine for days until I found a nurse and gave her my discharge paperwork. They can't hire enough medical staff the ones they have are overworked trying to get their job done. They accept any patients even some with deep psychiatric violent patients. They just want to fill the beds. I have never been in such a deplorable facility in my life. I'd rate the facility a D minus and the medical care a C minus. They need to hire good qualified people pay them what they deserve their jobs are not easy considering the patients they allow here. I found out after a few weeks here it is a nursing home not a sub acute rehabilitation facility. If my mother was alive and needed to be in a nursing he I would never place her here. She was a human resources director for the town i grew up in. I would never place her here. In such a place like this. There are good medical staff here but they are worked to death and they aren't given the resources they need . Bottom line stay away find a different nursing so ur loved one can...
Read moreThis is a horrible place for your loved ones to stay. The nursing home smelled of urine and my loved oneâs room had small ants or roaches that would crawl through the closet and on the floor. The nurses station did a horrible job with the phone service. I would call to talk to my loved one and be hung up on regularly. It didnât matter the time or day, I would either be put on hold for an extensive amount of time or hung up on. This place needs to be deeply investigated for neglect. My loved one never had any money in their account to get the proper maintenance done (hair cuts among other things). The nurses have attitudes towards visiting family members although that is not part of their job details. Iâm surprised there hasnât been a lawsuit against this place. Most of the reviews with 5 stars are probably people who work there. Head my warning with the others that state that this place is terrible and do not put your loved one in there. Someone needs to report this place to the better business bureau because I truly believe they are pocketing the social security money of the elders in there. If I could investigate this place and sue them for my loved...
Read moreIf I can give minus stars, this place definitely deserves it. The whole place smells like urine, the nurses don't care about the patients, and if you ask for assistance to change soiled pants, they push it onto the assistant. Staff/nurses sit around and chat, you ask for assistance, they make sure they finish their yakking then move as slowly as possible to come help. The floor was dirty and sticky in the room; supposedly nurses, assistants, and doctors come through daily and nobody noticed it? It's disgusting how they run the place. Now let's talk about food; every meal is tiny portion (so the residents don't produce too much human waste) and bland, if you give the food to the staff to eat, they won't even eat it themselves.
They put the Asian and non-Asian in separate wings, the non-Asian side is more orderly and clean while the Asian side smells like urine and no nurses or staff speak other language so why separate? Not sure why the health department or AG doesn't do random check to protect these seniors who have no other options? It's a...
