The system (or lack there of) that this restaurant uses for putting your name in is ridiculous. We called at 5:00pm. They said there is no wait and they don’t take call aheads. We get there at 6pm and watch as three parties of our size get seated before us after each just walked in after us. When we asked why, the woman at the front said “they called ahead.”

When we asked why they were seated, this same hostess said “they called ahead.” She went on to tell us that they only take call ahead’s when there is already a wait which is both inefficient and stupid.

The fact is that this hostess makes a terrible impression for the restaurant. She didn’t move the whole time that we were waiting, which was more than an hour. She was just screaming peoples name once without checking the bar and other people missed their name being called because they didn’t hear her. Her system was using a crayon on a napkin to take peoples names. She was crossing things out out of order, and seem to have no handle on what was actually happening.

Fortunately, there was Richie. He was really helpful, and after we told him what happened he made sure that we had a table very quickly. He was really wonderful. But this hostess who did not move from the one spot she was in, didn’t make sure that people could hear their names, and didn’t stick to the order that was on the napkin she was using was really terrible. After this, we had a nice meal with a really good waitress. But getting to our table was a disaster. This restaurant really needs to have buzzers or some other form of taking peoples names when they come in. Either take reservations or don’t. Don’t have this ridiculous call ahead system that apparently is only valid when there are already...

I went here with six individuals at about 45 minutes before closing. I could tell from the moment we walked inside, things would not go very well. There was trash all over the restaurant floor including brooms and the things they sweep the trash up with they were lined up all over the restaurant about 10 of them everywhere. The bathroom was quite dirty with trash scattered throughout the floor. We asked for chips without salt and was told, it was too late that they're about to close, which is not true, they do not close for 45 minutes. They did continue to bring chips loaded with salt, but refused to make us chips without salt, as they said the fryer was are already turned off for the evening. The food was barely edible, as we received whatever they could put together. If we had not walked in they were in the process of closing up shop. Our bill came to over $100. We could have had a better meal at Chick-fil-A. You could walk into a Chick-fil-A or go through their drive-thru at 5 minutes to 10 just five minutes before they close, and they will never tell you that are fire is turned off as we are about to close and leave trash scattered throughout the restaurant with brooms and mops everywhere. Several of my friends who came for dinner that night said to me, I will never go back to that restaurant again oh, that's very sad because it's very bad for business. Me personally, by the time I got home I started to feel in my stomach, I'm assuming from something I ate. The next morning I didn't feel so great either so I wanted to write this review so that others would know about how we were treated. As I said previously to other companies, if you cannot respect your customers, then you do not deserve to have any. Whoever reads this review, just know, it was not intended to be rude and anyway, what to advise you of one of your paying customers who received awful customer service, and up awful dining experience. Have a...

Mother’s Day plans should be at @ontheborder because Moms basically eat free all weekend*! More details below. #OnTheBorderPartner Oh and guess what else?! The Watermelon Margarita is BACK and you can be one of the first ones to try it. Time to treat your mom, wife, sister, or just about anyone who deserves a fantastic margarita - it’s awesome! We always kick things off with the endless chips and salsa, then dive into those mouthwatering mesquite grilled sizzling fajitas with their warm, homemade and hand-pressed tortillas. Ava can’t get enough of the birria tacos, and as for me, I need my “Mom Juice,” a.k.a. a Watermelon Margarita. Bring your mom to On The Border this Mother’s Day weekend! *Spend $50 and get $15 off from 5/9 to 5/12! Head to stories to find a location near you. #OnTheBorder #MothersDay

Warning: Roaches 🪳 at the Restaurant I have been to On the Border in the past and had an "good" experience overall. However, I haven't been in a least a year and returned yesterday with my friend from Nashville and my family of four. After our experience yesterday, we don't plan to come back again. When we arrived at 1130am (they open at 11am), there was no host to greet us or seat us. We waited about 5 min before someone came over and brought us to our seats. Upon sitting in the booth, my daughter noticed a bug crawling on the wall. I was next to the bug and realized it was a COCKROACH. I immediately had my family leave the booth and they went in put two tables together in the middle of the room and sat down. I left the booth and went straight to the kitchen because I could find NO staff anywhere in the lobby or restaurant portion. After hollering for someone, I was able to tell our waitress that there was a cockroach on the wall at our booth. She said she would go tell management. After, a few minutes the manager came over to our table and apologized several times for the cockroach and said it was an ongoing issue. It was as simple as that. An apology and statement. When we checked out, the did not charge us for the two guacamole appetizers that we had order as a result of the "incident" we experienced. The tables felt sticky and the walls and carpet were dirty. The staff were nice but the food was not flavorful and the chicken was dry. With that said, a restaurant should not be open if they have problems with roaches crawling around the restaurant. Close the restaurant and do a deep cleaning and hire an exterminator until the problem is resolved. Needless to say we won't be back.

The WORST experience ever. We was group of 6 visited this restaurant from nyc just to eat this stupid restaurant because our of the friend recommended us. 4/19/25 we reached around 10pm and person taking care of us was a tall guy with a tattoo and a curly hair i think his name is issac( thats what it shows on my receipt). He didnt looked like he want to work and was very unprofessional. He came after 15 minutes the time we sat on table to ask for order and all we order was drinks, appetizers and even main course as of we know that it was their closing time. We got drinks and all after we ask after 10mins that atleast guve us some water. We ordered 6 combos for each person only 4 got delivered to us and he didnt came to check on us whether we need anything or we good. By the time we 4 people got finished food other 2 was still waiting for the food and we called the other lady to ask whats going on with the remaining 2 ordered. She called the guy who was taking order that guy came and just told that sorry i forgot to placed the other order and as of now the kitchen is closed. But we placed all order at same time how can some forget only 2 ordered from all. He is very disappointed, unethical and looks disturbed. Just said sorry and left. But what about 2 person was still hungry and was waiting and time was about 11:30 and everything around was closed. So we said thats okay as ur kitchen is closed you can give us dessert and we can still be fine. He said kitchen is closed and he cant do anything. This is very disappointing, disgusting behavior.
