Jan Electronic Supplies Inc — Local services in New London

I have had two previous experiences shopping at Jan, both of them were terrible. I decided to try them out again today, to give them the benefit of the doubt. I wish that I had stayed at home.

The selection of components is not only terrible, but also antiquated. From resistors to fuses to potentiometers, everything that I have purchased from them was corroded from age and vastly overpriced.

Worst of all is the customer service. I have never been treated with anything but disdain when entering the store. The staff acts as if locating components and finding prices are great chores that I am forcing them to undertake. Two out of my three trips the Jan have resulted in the incorrect item being supplied, and each time the items I received were of subpar quality.

I am an electronic hobbyist, and most of my projects are small and for personal use. Maybe the staff at Jan chooses to treat larger and more commercial clients with greater care, I am not sure. I am sure that I have felt unwelcome every time I went to Jan, and that my business was unappreciated. I will never...

We had been previously, and the man who waited on us was very knowledgeable and helpful. We returned today and the man working was rude and made us feel we were imposing on his work day. If you are so busy then do not open to the public for business. You lost 2 good customers today and i Will tell everyone I see not to bother going there. Possibly the best service I've ever received from any business. I showed up 5 minutes before closing in need of resistors and diodes. I was shocked by the amount of product they had and the variety of their store. I was immediately helped, They had the resistors in the show room and they looked the diodes up and went into the back room and got them for me. I asked if I could stay and look around and they had no problem with it....
