T.J. Maxx — Local services in New Milford

Good prices and sometimes nice stuff, but usually not friendly staff. Wasn’t having a great day to begin with and hoped to get a “hi, how are you or maybe even do you need any help or find everything today?” The store isn’t very big and almost any store in the mall workers will immediately ask how are you or be in the vicinity to help. Had to chase someone down just to look at jewelry quickly and before that noticed there’s an employee who just stood at the fitting room counter. TJ Maxx and Marshall’s always gives me ghost-town vibes unfortunately. I don’t normally ask someone for their number but I thought this cashier was cute so I complimented her and went for it since I just lost a good friendship. She smiled and said thanks and had me write my phone number down and went into a story about how her car even has her social media on it too and I said that’s funny because we both have newer Volkswagen’s. Then I get a text, “yo this is her boyfriend she is not interested.” She could have just said thanks I have a boyfriend or thanks but I’m not interested or not wanting to date or something. On top of that she never bagged any of my stuff when I bought stuff there twice. Unpleasant experience which wasn’t necessary to toy with someone’s emotions as well as time. I went to this store yesterday looking for sometbing specific which the store didn't have. The store was very neat and organized. My issue was that there were several people in line (probably more in the store) that flat out took off their masks. They were close to other shoppers in line. Luckily I was more than 6 feet away. I spoke to a store associate about this as I was leaving and she told me they are not allowed to enforce mask wearing as per their manager. Someone at this store needs to enforce mask wearing .
